Negative about training was created by animalpak07
Hey guys
Im really getting negative about my training. Im not making any progress. Im maybe gaining some strength, but further I don't make any progress.
Im not gaining weight or losing weight.
I feel tired, I dont feel 'lus' to go to the gym.
Im bored with my current training routine. My diet sucks (money issue) I almost live of shakes. I dont know what to do.
Any advice?
Thanks

Thanks DJ. Any advice on a new training routine? Ive been doing powerlifting style training for 2 years, low reps etc. What is a good routine to follow? 4 or 5 day split? I also want to incorporate jogging in the routine.

why do u want to incorporate jogging, thats only going to halt your gains even more, burning up calories that u take in vs using them to grow muscle... what does your diet look like at the moment?

Just to be fitter. My diet is really shocking Im afraid to say. Im ashamed of it.
1- Whey shake + milk
TRAIN
2- Whey shake + milk + banana
3- maybe some ground meat and rice or tuna mayo sandwich
4- whey shake + milk
5- dìnner: usualy some type of meat with rice
I know Im majorly undereating and I dont get in enough protein.

well u need to get in more carbs and fats thats for sure...ratehr spend more money on chicken, have 3 chicken meals and 3 shake meals a day.its not that expensive dude if u get the cheap skinless chicken fillets from places...milk is costing u more than getting proper calories in. use water and spend more money on oats, mac nut oil, chicken. tuna is bloody expensive.

20g per serving.
I usually just eat whats in my parents house. Which is really irritating cause there aint no good food to eat. Ive been weighing 95 for more than a year now. Got stronger, but no progress weight wise. But I know its my diets fault.

I dont have a budget. My mum buys all the food so I just eat whatever she buys. And I buy a tub of whey every month or 2 if there is enough money to do so.

try see if she will stock up on black cat yellow top peanut butter , chicken breasts skinless, foodlovers market has them as cheap as R 29 a kilo , tuna, tenderised steak (its usually trimmed of fat and again R 49 a kilo is common) and loads of eggs , ditch the milk as dj said stick to water.

Dude when there is a will there is a way...It seems to me that you have the will or you wouldnt be so concerned about making progress....Get to a butchery in your area and buy chicken fillets. You can pick them up on special for around R26 per Kg. Thats what 3.5 tins of tuna costs! Listen to what DJ has to say about diets and you cant go wrong!! What you put in is what you get out!

If you are on the west rand then there's a butchery that sells silverside at R37 per kilo if you buy a whole one. The also have frozen chicken breast at R400 for a 20kg box.

Stay away from tuna because its very expensive and it tastes like like shit.

Take a break.

You sound burned out. Focus on other important things in life for now. Take a 2 week break, cause you are waisting your time training now. Get your mind right. Try to eat better, your body will automatically recover and you will go back stronger and grow.

- Go for liqued chickens (eggs) Its R55 for 5 doz at Makro
- Go to a fruit en veg and try to buy shin. It doesnt have as much fat, but will up your protein. Also not as expensive as other meats.
- Normally you can buy bulk whole chickens (min 5) for about R21p /kg. Just get rid of the skin.
- Sweet patatoes, normal patatoes, green beans etc. These are cheaper veggies, but will do wonders.

Most important of all, get your mind right. a negative mind can not host a powerhouse. Go back to the drawing board and decide what you want to acheive. And then go for it.
