I did start doing some short courses through UCT recently just to keep my mind stimulated.

Haha, thanks Nobitchin. CFA not a bad qualification either - good luck with the exams bud! I'm busy with my CIMA as well, writing my last paper in November. How do you find CFA?

To be honest it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, it wasn't easy but I guess the high failure rates and the reputation was enough to scare me to studying really hard, I went all out. CA + CIMA you are going to be a force to be reckoned with boet

I've heard CFA failure rates are quite high, but then again it's international so you don't know which countries are bringing the pass rate down and vice versa. In my experience you should never even consider pass rates, you're a racing horse with blinders, just keep your eyes on the finish line and don't bother with the other horses.
CA and CIMA should put me at an advantage, but the market's so crap now. 4 years ago when you qualified employers were begging you to work for them. Nowadays it's hard finding a good job, especially if you're non BEE. I've been in the job market for 2 months now with little activity.
But anyways, heads up for the exams!
