Cycle update:

Stopped the sdrol. Although it has significant positives in terms of strength, the lethargy is simply not worth it.
I think it would be great if you were on holiday or a professional builder, but not for guys who have to go to work.

Cutting down to 100mg of test prop for another week of bridge, then two week break and pct.

Although my life and physique has changed dramatically in the last 18 months, I am not overly happy with the results of this cycle.

I think I need to step away from the cycle, be honest, and focus on my diet, which is clearly my weakness.
I have always battled with force feeding, so maybe the only option at my age is to spend the money on a diet pro, and maybe a regular masseuse.

Thanks again for all the awesome advice guys. Chat soon.

Nate, are you not maybe being overly critical of yourself and what you've achieved?

Were your expectations not perhaps idealistic/over enthusiastic?

Post pics of you before your journey started and where you are now. I'm sure there will be a huge difference and maybe you need to hear from others.

I think your progress has been awesome. The amount of time you dedicate and the questions showed you weren't just in this because you were bored.

Maybe it's because your cycle has ended (and can't wait for your next cycle... hehehe)

Cheers Nate, this has been an informative log, for me as well. No shame in dropping the sdrol, just another lesson learning your body.

Nate do what Cyclo said, post those pics and you will see where you came from.

You WILL reach a stage where it feels like no steroid works, and you still look the same as before, we have all been there.

Remember what I said, It takes years to get jacked.

Your next cycle :D - Tren A & Test Prop with some anabols as frontload & we then change a few things in your diet.

Morning Nate

I also think you being a bit hard on yourself here. Even if the cycle wasn't a 100% success in terms of gains or expectations, I think it was a big learning curve for you. Plus you got to know your body a lot better which is something that always fascinates me when it comes to dieting and AAS. Plus use this as determination and motivation to fuel your next goals, even if it is just sorting out the diet part and discipline that goes with it. But you have a very inquisitive mind and luckily there are a lot of members here to help.

Nate, it really saddens me to read that you "struggle with force feeding". I'm not sure how many calories you are currently consuming however, anything under 4000 calories is really really easy to get down. Based on the diet you posted in the beginning of this thread you eat far too "clean" and boring foods. Have a look at IIFYM (if it fits your macros) and a concept called Reverse dieting. Those two saved my life to be 100% honest. I can get down 4000 calories on a high calorie day because i eat foods I enjoy - no reason not to. Also, I know it's very common to eat upwards of 300g of protein however this really isn't ncessary - the research suggests 1.2g per ln of body weight is enough even for athletes. You've spent a hell of a lot on gear and you want it to be worth it - so look up those concepts for next cycle and make use of myfitnesspal for counting macros. It makes life extremely easy and once you have a few days filled on you fan just print those out and follow them on days you don't have time to count. You have a very positive outlook and you're very keen to learn - Goodluck with everything man you deserve it

Agree with everything SuThy said except for Reverse Dieting, this is a technique used to increase daily calories for people with metabolic adaptation to low calories and/or high calorie expenditure.

Thank you for all the kind words guys.

I know it is a marathon and not a sprint. As Oupa has told me many times, it takes years to get jacked.
And considering I only started at 40, I guess I should not be so hard on myself.

As requested, I will get the chick to take a pic or two and post them next to an old pic or two. Maybe that will help with the motivation a bit cause feeling a bit flat and old at the moment.

I appreciate all the advice too guys regarding diet. But Rhino is right - I eat like a pussy, and no more gear will be of any use unless that is sorted.

I literally cannot grasp what it would feel like to not be able to reach a desired calorie count in a day. Food is friggen delicious! And even if you can't make time to sit and chew through "X" meals per day, there are loads of meal replacement recipes / products.

Anyway, with all the "fat acceptance" bullsh!t going on at the moment it's a bit of a mindshift to talk to folks that have difficulty trying to overeat.

Well Nate, you still have some time on bridge, plus I'm sure you'll look swole for summer. Use your time off now to come up with plans for your diet in cycle #3. Experiment with unconventional foods that you can eat more comfortably.

Hi guys,

Okay as suggested for motivation, I dug up an old pic from two years ago, and took two current pics this afternoon for comparison.

Your physique has changed considerably. Your physique and skin look like someone in their 20's rather than someone at 40 so that's awesome!

The improvements are clear as day there Nate nice v taper coming on. no offence but in the first pic you could pass as a school kid the new lifestyle has done you good and its only going to get better. Johnnie O jackson is 44 and he won the texas pro this weekend that cycle Oupa suggested sounds like a plan you should give it a go.

Hey Nate.

I struggle much like you with being overly critical of my own progress. I know it's cliched but I just keep reminding myself of the saying: I may not be there yet, but I'm closer than I was yesterday.

If you compare yourself to these jacked genetic freaks that we watch on YouTube and in the gym who've been moving weights since they could walk, you'll always find yourself wanting.

But I think if you keep your own goals in perspective and can answer the question: am I doing my best, given my circumstances (work, family, commitments) with a Yes! Then you're doing better than most. Personal growth, whether spiritual, physical, emotional or mental, isn't about perfection... its about becoming a slightly better version of yourself each time you check in for a review.

You've made good progress. And progress is all we can really hope to achieve at the end of the day.

My 2c.

Iron Kobra.

The motivation comes from within and how fucking bad you want it. Your in the beginning faze moving to middle/intermediate bracket. Once there you can maintain and decide where to from here, but you owe it to yourself to get there first. Otherwise, why would you do all of this and fuck out when the good shit starts and then start all over again?

Come on bud, your so close..

Var is nice if you're lean, makes you strong. I run 100mg daily for 6 to 8 weeks so its pretty costly.
How long you been running it Nate as two weeks wont do anything for you besides so strength?
