Duncan wrote: Thanks. I am 42, 74 kg, 1.72m, trained for over 10 years but last 2 with a personal trainer. Currently do ypga on mon. Gym on tues to fri and cycle on sun. Typical diet mon to fri is as follows:
4:30am pre workout drink with 40g protein (vegan mix with balanced amino combo as allergic to dairy and all types of whey) plus low gi carb + bcaa (Do oats, raisins and honey. Trust me it's absolutely awesome!)
6:30am post workout drink with 30g protein (egg white and 'Carnivore' meat based protein powder) plus bcaa (Add High GI carbs here like dextrose or Vitargo. Use the BCAA's as an intra workout drink)
8am breakfast with 2 eggs, 2 rye toast and 1 portion of low fat back bacon (This is your post workout meal which is NB! 150g Chicken with 3/4 cup basmati rice)
10am 20 to 40g of vegan protein powder (Add good fat like peanut butter or cashew nuts)
12pm 2 portions of meat plus 1 portion starch and 1 portion vegetables (Good!)
3pm tuna, egg and vegetable or pulse salad (2 Tins tuna, 3 eggs)
5:30 pm chicken sandwich (Not ideal but fine as long as the bread is low GI atleast)
7:30 pm 1 portion meat plus 1 portion starch and 1 portion vegetables (2 Portions meat)
NB! Before bed: 30g Peanut Butter with 60g Whey
Weekends are harder to maintain but follow similar routine
You are very scared of protein bro! You need 1-1.5g of protein per pound of body weight per day, and up to 2g protein per pound per day if you are on cycle. Your diet is not far off though and it's great that you are used to eating regularly so not bad bro. Just try to remain faithful during weekends cause you can throw away your entire week's progress
