I've never needed motivation to go to gym... I actualy enjoy it, its a hobby, a way of life, something to help me destress.... Every now and then I watch videos of Jay Cutler or some other pro training and that amps me even more...

If there has to be things that motivate me it would be:

1. My training partner, I have someone who relies on me and who I rely on, if I skip it screws him around and vice versa.

2.Having a well set out goal, and past failures. The worst promise you can break is a promise to yourself, that counts for anything in life. I can't tell you the times I've sat back and said "what a dick I was 4 months ago for not staying on that diet"... The person you are today has a responsibility to who you will be tomorrow.

For me it will also be to look at DVDs of pros that get me fired up. There will be lots of days when you will not be able to go to gym, when ur sick etc, so I think about that a lot. But on the other hand again, if I don’t feel like it, I just don’t go.

I had lots of training partners, but I prefer to train alone, all my training partners’ only lasts about a month, then they stop. Also lots of them just want to talk kak the whole time. A training partner is a demotivation for me.

The thought of looking like an average guy with 13 inch arms, girl strength and no legs scares the shit out of me.

Dont wanna go back to where I started

Sorry guys Apparently it is true, cause its happened to certain people already, so I’m not taking any chances !!

Yeah, just thge thought of being skinny again scares me. Having people look at you funny at the beach and little kids stare pretty much motivates me to go mad at gym

Um, but im scared of needles...

1: Find someone bigger than you in the gym. and give yourself a goal to get bigger than them,

2: talk to competitive athletes, usually gives you motivation to hear how guys that get shredded training.

3: get yourself a decent training partner and maybe a PT twice a week to bring up lagging body parts.nothing better than someone who knows what they are doing makes u scream like a little girl.

4: keep results of your progress in a training diary, photos also work...

remember to keep you goals simple, must have a start date, must have a finishing date, and must contain what you want to achieve in that time frame... make 1 large goal and then make 1 goal at the start of each week,if you get to your goal of eating 42 clean meals in a week then u get a reward,be it food or a new piece of clothing etc...

failing to plan in planing to fail.

1. Yes! By posting on this forum you have already taken steps towards motivation in the gym.

Keeping gym and fitness regularly/constantly on your mind will go a long way towards keeping you motivated. Thus, by simply posting on this forum you are taking a step in the right direction.

2. Hanging out with like-minded people also really helps. Having a training partner(s) always helps loads.

3. Set goals! This can't be mentioned enough.

Never argue with an idiot - they bring you down to their level and then beat you with experience.

You have to have a body you are aiming for. I have tonnes of pictures and videos of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. Thats what I am aiming for.

Every day, before i leave for the gym, I will watch a few vids, and look at some pics. (download promo's off youtube. the music and visuals are insanely inspiring.)

hope this helps. :)

Likewise DVD's of the pro's for me. Gets me amped.

Otherwise, I've never really needed *that* much motivation, it's always been a way of life for me, from when I was *cough* younger.

It's the best time for me to be 'alone' with my thoughts and sort through shit in my head.

im the same Bodhi.

the gym is my zone. people have talked about me and my gyming, and how its "sacred" to me. which it is.

i have been in a gym for as long as i can remember. its a part of life. but sometimes u need to have the visual reminder, to remind you of where you are wanting to go. :)

Having a training partner really is a big motivation and gets you out of bed in the early hours of the morning. I only have a training partner once a week for legs. The other days im on my own. As much as i like gyming i must admit that sometimes its a bitch to go if you gym alone

The most dedicated I've ever been with training was when I trained with one of SA's top BB's for nearly six months. But since then I've been training alone and its okay'ish! I just miss it when I do chest because I'm quite lazy with chest.

Then you get guys like Jay Cutler that trains alone most of the time and reckons that if you can't pick up a weight alone then its anyway too heavy for you.

im the same. i have my music in my ears, and i kill myself at the gym. every day.

you have to work to your strengths. train with a partner if it works for you. dont if it doesnt.

I have had a few training partners. they cant keep up with me, coz i train quickly and at a high intensity. so i gave up on them.

I am my own training partner.

It keeps me sane and helps me clear my mind. Its a great way to de stress or I would have beaten the shit out of my boss by now.

It also great to see where u started and where u are now. To have a goal in mind is also a great motivator.
