On a semi related note, in the US there is a 20% leeway allowed with regards to nutritional information on labels. This is because with different methods of analysis, the accuracy changes. Of course companies will take maximum advantage of that leeway. Haven't been able to find any info about south African labelling laws though, except that companies must have lab tested certification every 3 years. What the discrepancy allowed is though I have no idea.

Law states that "Nutrient analysis must be carried out by a Sanas approved laboratory if claims are made on the label."

Somebody in the field has to clarify as to how good due diligence is adhered to, as far as I know companies have to do their own test prior and post to Packaging QA and records have to be kept to prove there claim. I'm also sure most companies would not share these test results openly or they will give you false results.

Standard tolerance variation tests and results should be international as most companies have to adhere to ISO standards.

Im afraid that SA legislation in regards to food QA is poor unless the food is made by an international owned company.

People I know that sell some very well product on the shelves, have each 'batch' tested and update nutrition information on each package...But if you believe 50% and below is fair, it's not.. It's actually bullshit, and enrages me, not because I use it, but because of the waste of money, no wonder teens are looking to use gear, because they get sold lies...

Eggs and Milk my Bro. All I am going to trust from now on. With the R420 I spend on Protein Powder a month I can Buy 10 extra trays of large eggs at Pick n Pay. Eggs and milk complete each others amino acid profiles... When in doubt rather go with quality whole food. Chicken breast is also good!

I have found in the last year just by focusing and learning and reading up on nutrition that my results this last year has been the best in 15years of training bud. And the last year it was only solid nutrition no Anabolics...

Man this infuriates me too. I've been sitting on the fence for the last year or so as to whether I should cut out supplements entirely. Every month I tell myself I'll just test it next month but the belief that in order to make gains I need all this marketed bullshit is so ingrained in me that I just land up going out again on payday and forking out my R2000+ on the full stack. I've been training on and off since I was 18 and you get so bombarded on social media, by the sponsored athletes and in the stores with why you need all these supplements to make progress that it's hard to believe if I just eat normal food I'll grow. Terrible industry.

Fuck it. I'm sold. Like you say RB. Eggs and milk.

RB do you know if eggs and yoghurt also complete each other's amino profile? I'm slightly lactose intolerant so egg whites and gero fat free, sugar free yogurt are my primary protein sources. Milk bloats me like a balloon.

Bro I feel that comment is unfair.

SSN is overpriced. Even if they do produce quality, they have a large amount of shill products.

Nutritech has proven to be reliable (whey proteins). That sugar comment is maybe aimed at other products? But even then I think it's a bit unjust.

Evox is mediocre at best.

Biogen is a marketed USN.

USN has gotten dramatically better, but they still milk the bullshit marketing. The biggest clues to looking for, is what they name the products. If it's obscure, or the appeal played up, it's probably a shill.

ON gold std is supposed to be the best of the best and if they are overeporting bcaa content by almost half, you really gotta wonder about brands like ssn, usn etc especially in the banana Republic of South Africa where bribery and corruption is king.

Do you guys rate i still invest in a massbuilder for myself and whey? I mean the pre-work out does work, however it does effect me badly. Then on the BCAA i will just stick to natural foods i guess?

Which pre you use, and how does the pre affect you badly? The crash-depression after the workout?

Furk kan jy dalk vir IK antwoord of yoghurt en eiers mekaar se aminosuur profile ook komplimenteer en voltooi soos wat melk en eiers doen?

@Furk Hellfire - cant sleep at all. Nutritec AminoPre - if i take 2 scoops or more i cant sleep at all, if i take 1 no effect. But the Hellfire makes me PUMP like you cant believe i have no idea how it works but i have huge amounts of power and energy. But this is besides the point tho....

Hét nie al my bronne op mý nie, sal môre oggend raat gee indien iemand anders dit nie kan beantwoord nie.

I'll tell you one thing IK, adding BCAAs to food is not the answer. Rich Piana is a fkkkn retard for suggesting milk + BCAAs is a whole protein. Milk is high in Glutamic acid and proline, eggs are high in leucine, that's all I can recall from memory. I'll give a proper answer and advice tomorrow mate.

Stretch after workouts maybe? Funny enough I've talked to people I've sold BCAAs to, and they raved how much better recovery was. I didn't even push the sale, they told me out of their own. I've only ever used BCAAs for training fasted.
