Gym dress wear

Excuse my ignorance, but I was wondering if there's a purpose or some training benefits to the way some of the guys dress in gym when training, eg.
- wearing a hoodie, alone, or over a cap
- wearing a beanie
- wearing a thick jacket/tracktop (in summer)
- wearing long tights underneath shorts
- wearing those five finger tackies
- I've even seen a guy training barefoot on socks
...and I'm sure there's plenty more that others can share

To you it may look like I just did a push-up... But in fact, I just bench-pressed the world.

Wearing normal trainers to train in is not ideal by a long a way.
Also, no straps.
Belts only allowed at 1-3RM on deads and squats.
NOBODY is allowed to wear gloves, EVER.
Other than that they can wear what they like!

Gloves equals a weak grip. Plus, hands as with feet, are loaded with sensors. Dampen the sensors, dampen the bodies preparation for the load you are going to lift. Some of our women deadlift 120+ kgs at 52kg bodyweight with no gloves. Most peoples weakest link is their grip. Throw away the gloves and the grip will get a lot stronger and you'll handle heavier weights.
Straps, we're not a bodybuilding gym, we want to build (no offence) true strength and straps equal a weak grip. If you can't handle the weight without assistance then you can't handle the weight.
Belts, unless you're going to near max, there is no need if your core stability is good enough and technique is sound. Belts at any stage for that create an over dependence on it.
A little more than my 2 cents but that's how we work and we get fantastic results.

Suck it up cherub hahaha
I used to be the same, it took me a while to get used to no gloves but it's the best thing i EVER did to improve my strength.
Guys training to get strong and ripped yet are worried about their hands hurting a bit...little ironic

CHAPEL wrote: personally, if I don't use a belt on squats or deads I will have to leave gym from the pain in my lower right back, this has happened before. So if its a choice between belt and finishing everything or not being able to bend over for a few days, I take belt.. gloves though, those are just sies..
For me mate, that says either:
1. Old or pre-existing injury - if so, then rehab it to get it right and gradually build up again.
or
2. Technique is wrong, possibly even muscle firing pattern is wrong. Either way if number one is not the case then deadlifts and squats should be completely pain free.
Whatever it is, wearing the belt is just masking an issue.
