Lower Back - Popping sound was created by milktuds
Well I kinda have had this problem for a while now. Don't know if it is serious. I guess I should have it checked out. Do I go to my GP or straight to the chiropractor?

If I place both my hands behind my back and press hard on the one side of my steitjie (fuck knows what it's called in Engrish) it makes a popping sound, as if it's put back into place I guess. If I sleep on a mattress that is too soft my lower back is fucked the next day. Just the one side, the other side is fine. But when I pop it back in it then it becomes a lot better.

I can't do sit ups at all. When I do Roman chair sit ups for instance. When going down my lower back (left side) makes three cracking/popping sounds, the same when I come up. (File Removed)

Maybe if you stop turning ur neck 360 degrees your back will get better. Thanx for changing the avi, less scary than the first one but I was more scared of SUPERSPIDER's avi than yours. Seriously though, go get your back checked out!

It's the coccyx.

Go and see an orthopaedic guy. Have you had any injuries that you know of that caused it? I'd see an orthopaedic doc before going to chiropractor, they help with alignment, but if it's an injury I'd get it checked out properly.

OK so it's not the Coccyx (steitjie) or whatever. It's those big ass bones, you've got them on both sides. Like I pointed out in the picture. Are those part of your hips or something? But it's like where that flat bone is near the spine, 2 inches or so to the left. If I press it hard then it pops. If I lie on my back too long and it starts paining the pain travels all the way down into my shins.

I'll go see the doc then. I can deadlift and squat as heavy as I possibly can, no problem.

I'm not an anatomicalistist so not much help, but have you at some stage suffered a large fall onto your butt, or something similar that might fracture the pelvis, or even detach the saccrum from the pelvis? Whatever it is I doubt its hip joint related, and it might be affecting the integrity of that giant sciatic nerve.

Can't remember. It kinda just started coming back now, don't know why. Had this problem when I was still at school. It was either the rugby or squatting with a rounded back. I was about 16 or 17. My dad was a boer so no doc for me, told me I was a sissy and should man the fuck up.

Couldn't walk right for two or three weeks. Only sat on my right butt cheek. Popped painkillers like tic tacs. The pain doesn't bother me. It just irritates me.

I think I might have Sacroiliac Joint Dysfunction or a Herniated Disc in the lumbar spine.

Haha, sounds like my dad...

As a kid I jumped off a wall and landed on the side of my foot. It swole up instantly and went purple. My dad told me to put ice on and grow a pair... That night my mom saw and finaly decided to take me to the doc... it was borken! :)

Haha, I fell once when we were on holiday. The impact broke my hand in two places. It went purple instantly. I begged my dad to take me to the doctor. Instead he gave me 2 Disprins and a hiding (I think that's "pak")

Two weeks later my mom took me to the Hospital. The doctor thought I was being abused when he heard how long it has been broken. :haha

I meant steitjie is coccyx, don't know if thats what's causing the pain-probably not.

I'd go and get it checked out by orthopaedic guy, at least just to know for sure what you're dealing with

I'm going with the sacrum... Dont think a disk would give those symptoms. Pure speculation mind. Let us know what the good ol' Doc says...

The tailbone is the coccyx. Just above the anus. It's the evolutionary skeletal remnants of where our ancestors tails once originaly sprouted.

Evolution is as good as fact. If you don't believe in evolution you are either completely uninformed or just [strike]stupid[/strike] challenged. But this is not the place for this kind of discussion... :)

He injected me with a nice cocktail of drugs in between the illiam crest (something like that) and the last vertebrae of my lower back. He said if it doesn't get better then I should come back. My Doc likes injections  . Don't think he has ever given me a script for pills.

Well he said um, the last vertebrae and the Sacrum usually make a straight line where they are connecting (the one on top of the other) with each other. Mine is kinda a bit skew due to some nerves causing them not to move lekker. So he thinks it is a nerve that's stuck/clinched in that area. Hope this makes some sense.

So if it is not that, then he'll send me to an orthopedic dude

So he injected painkillers and anti-inflams into the area where the pain is coming from in the hope that swelling will go down and free the nerve?
