The BMW is very popular and the market leader up to now, but there are a couple of others that is looking very good. The Ducati is really attractive.
I like Honda's, from their motorcycles, outboards for boats to generators. As far as I'm concerned the Honda Africa Twin looks great.

You won't find a more avid fan for a Honda than me, it's the only vehicle I purchase for my wife and I. When they brought out those vtec motors for a boat, wow!!! I know you love your Toyota's too, but Honda engines can't break. I'll lookup their bike now.

Admin I have given my old baby my fist bike I got when I was 16 in 2002 to Lallie's Dad it is a 1988 XT 350 6speed 4 valve. I sold my 2013 XT660R to my Dad for dirt cheap and bought a 2009 BMW R1200GS low kms and full BMW service history and the bike has all the extras bought it from and old guy for R100 000 with a trailer to load it up and tow behind the car. I love it very comy I get 300ks on a tank easy and I wind it with panniers and Lallie on. She just learned to ride on the 350 but she can't kick start a bike so looking at getting a CRF250L for her also

Yes, they could have won with a good margin if the top riders didn't get the hour penalty.

That looks like a good deal on your GS, they hold their value remarkably well.
How tall is Lallie? The CRF250L is a great choice for shorter riders like myself.

Had the same issue with an original 1998 Yamaha R1 they called them the bad boy R1 or killer R1. Got tank slappers like crazy. Sold it to a mate he crashed with it in the fist week. Still bugs me as his parents blame me for losing him. Broke all ties last year...

One question I have.... why was Harley Davidson not recommended by anyone?
I'm looking at getting the Iron 883 as my first ride. Good / bad idea?
Would appreciate the views of the seasoned riders.

1) Because we respect ourselves.
2) Because we don't need to compensate with loud noises.

Bad idea. That's a massive engine for a first bike. Also, it's a Harley....

Anyone else with something bike related to share?
After 11 years of absence from bikes I got a good deal on a Honda CRF250L a week ago and it's a great machine. I only do trail riding though and it's perfect for that, such an easy bike to ride.
I know someone that is looking at the "BMW GS 1200 Adventure" or "Ducati Multistrada 1200 Enduro". Difficult decision, but a nice one to have.
Did countless hours shopping and testing but at the end of the day you cannot ignore your childhood dreams. If I ever get a Lambo it has to be a Countache. If it's a bike it must be an R1 2005 or earlier.
