My cousin is an 1.84m 200kg 34y/o male and is being warned by doctors that he will not see his baby's 1st birthday if he keeps on doing what he is doing. he is roughly 105kg overweight. Being the fitness junkie in the family they asked me if i could help but this is a little out of my depth with the severity of the situation. i worked out the following diet for him to the best of what i know and also recommended he start a cycle of clenbuterol or should he wait on that ??
here is the diet
Breakfast
Jungle Oats - 100 g ( 1 tsp honey allowed )
Apples 1 medium
Coffee 1 mug (240 ml) ( black no milk or sugar )
Nutritech 100% Pure Whey - 2 scoops, 30 g
Lunch
Grilled Fish 200 g
Cucumber (with Peel) 1.5 cups slices
Brown Rice 1.5 cups cooked
Lemon Juice
Dinner
Greek Salad - 2 fist sizes
Chicken Breast - 250 g (lemon as dressing en pepper ) of 250g Lean Mince of 200g Steak
1 cup cucumber if not stuffed after salad and chicken
Snacks
Pineapple - 1 cup diced
Rice Cakes With Marmite - 3
Roasted Cashew Nuts - 50 g
Banana 1 medium (18 cm - 20 cm long) (before training in the morning)
any suggestions would be of great help as i want to help this poor man but mostly his wife and new born childs .. thanks guys

Good news is Pyro is right. A keto diet will leaf to weight loss and heavy exerciser is not that necessary. Obviously a big bloke isn't active at all. As he loses weight and becomes more mobile he can exercise more and up intensity to become fitter.
Bad news. At his age and weight the skin isn't going to shrink so he will in all probability require surgical intervention if he doesn't want to end up looking like a Sharpei. Highly doubt if a med aid will cover this so will be at own expense. I think DJ mentioned about R50k.

The 100+ Kg of fat isn't the problem, it's just a symptom of the real problem. So what I'd do is think of what drives him to be so self destructive and start there. Then look at who in his life is enabling him to do this to himself and approach them about what they can do to change things. Who does his grocery shopping? Who cooks these giant meals he must be eating? Who gets him takeaways. All that has to stop. With people like this there's usually a codependent loved one who thinks they are helping but are a part of the problem.
It's very good of you to step up and do what you can to help but all his loved ones need to start playing hard ball as well.

I would not recommend you take this on unless you have alot of patience if you like me i couldnt wrap my head around the fact why a person can be so lazy and why are they so stubborn not to listin to what you have to say.
I would do what Rhino said get him into weight less they will give him alot more support and advice that you could ever do.

Maybe the reality check of missing out on his kids life will be motivation enough?
I agree with oupa, drop him below BMR - with that amount of fat he can afford it for a while...
Give him low calorie alternatives...
Let him drink as much coke light as he can get down, provided he can take the sodium... slowly start introducing small changes until he has a body like fillet or rhino
When it hurts... That's when i start counting, because that's when it starts to count.

The motivation needs to come from the inside. If the dude doesn't WANT to change then he never will no matter what you do. He has to realise the severity of the situation himself.

Smalguy wrote: hey guys thanks for all the help and guidance but i decided to throw in the towel yesterday with him after i had a heart to heart with him and explaining the severity of the situation and what the actuall reasons behind his weight may be and how we can work on it and was then basically told to sod off and stop thinking I am Gods gift to man just because i have the muscle in the family and that was just one too much for me
To me it sounds like the man is jealous of you. He is stuck in a dark hole and he doesn't know how to get out of it. You have the 'muscles' that he would very much like to have. I don't think I need to tell you how filthy a jealous person gets. My experiences have taught me that jealous people do not accept help from the person they are jealous of. All you can do is get out of the way and know that you were the better man.

Muscleaddict wrote: At 200 Kg there's probably a much deeper problem than his diet and being lazy. That is a special kind of obese. He must have some serious emotional issues he needs to deal with and probably needs therapy. If you take away his food he'll be left with a masive void that he'll need to fill with something else - no I'm not talking about his stomach - otherwise he'll just slump back to his old pattern of behaviour.

Great advice as always MuscleAddict. For someone who has little to no self control, I would focus on the smaller things in his eating habits. Cutting out sugar and processed foods will be the best start in my opinion. Few months down a more strict diet can be implemented. Someone with low self control and determination will not follow a diet.
