i've always followed alot of gurus in terms of high protein at 2g per LB so about 4.4g per kg, now guys like andrew hudson in his off season are eating close of 500-600g of protein per day which is that amount, and i have always followed milos, hany and some other guys views on it,it does work for alot of guys but for certain amount of time periods of 3-4months with a month low protein down to 1g per pound.. the doc recons when dieting for shows u drop your protein to 1g per pound and add carbs,it works for alot of competitve athletes having the higher carbs but for joe average who isnt training and cardioing like a competitive athlete its gonna be hard to utilize all that energy.
start at a lower value and go up,i know the diets i draw up for pump are lower protein than most and he still grows no problems... 1.5g per pound to grow is enough naturally as most guys state like chris aceto, but the other gurus dealing with mass monsters go up to 2g of protein per pound... this is all up to personal choice, its not written in stone.

Well when I had my serious kidney issues DJ told me to cut down seriously on my protein I can't remeber the split or the guy he refered too, my weight stayed at 111 and bodyfat never moved... So with the correct split it works well...

Well with my current diet I'm getting about 375 - 425g protein and 450g carbs (on big muscle group days) I'm just scared to change things up in the diet while on cycle?
I'm only eating 800g meat a day should I increase that and maybe cut a shake?

you can increase a meal and cut a shake..where are your carb sources coming from? its best to see your body fat % as u might be way over eating but its up to u, i would for your weight and an estimation of body fat come down a little in calories so to say maybe 350g of protein and 400g of carbs and 120g of fats to start and then after 2 weeks start increasing calories, if you wanna put on lean mass thats what i would suggest as any additional carbs can be stored as fat.... your choice,
ps pump it was George farrah who uses low protein due to having 1 kidney.
