FAT VS MUSCLES

IS MUSCLES REALY WEIGHING MORE THAN FAT. I STILL EAT THE SAME BUT DO MORE MUSCLE EXERCISES, WITH WEIGHTS AND NOW I START TO WEIGH MORE. I CAN FEEL I HAVE LOST CENTIMETRES. I FIT IN SMALLER CLOTHES BUT MY WEIGHT IS CLIMBING. I CAN SEE I AM GETTING MORE MUSCLELY IF THAT IS THE CORRECT WORD. MUST I RATHER ONLY CARDIO UNTIL I HAVE REACHED MY GOAL WEIGHT AND THEN START WITH THE WEIGHTS. YESTERDAY I LIFTED 300 KG WITH MY LEGS IN THE GYM AND I CAN DO 100 SIT UPS THAT WAS IMPOSSIBLE FOR ME FEW MONTHS AGO. ANY SUGGESTIONS WILL BE APPRECIATED

I have seen further than others. That's because I was standing on the shoulders of giants. I would rather leave u in peace than to live with u in pain

Hi maggie

I suggest you do both. I like morning cardio before breakfast for fatloss and then another say 15-20min after your weights workout. If your diet is good you should just be patient and the results will come, rather have your bodyfat tested every week or two than weighing on a scale. Too many factors that determine your weight.

Lets go!

Its like saying does 1 ton of feathers weigh more than 1 ton of lead? No they weight the same.your weight might be increasing as your muscle mass might be going up as well as muscle glycogen stores, remember that when you eat carbohydrates you will retain 3g of water for every 1g of carbohydrates you eat, now because you are pushing heavy weights and causing trauma to the muscle your body uses blood and water to shuttle nutrients to the muscle to help repair themselves,so this could be the culprit.

If you want to loose weight cut off an arm or a leg, but you want to loose fat so rather use your mirror and clothes to judge your fat loss,if your clothes seem to be stretching over night and falling off you and your weight is the same that's a good thing, weight loss doesn't mean fat loss.if u are loosing cms then you are loosing fat.

Maggie, I know its not easy, but try ignore the scale - especially during short periods of time.
If your clothes are fitting better and you can see an improvement, then you are on the right track and you should just stick to it.

and i thought when u guys replied "realy" (sarcastic) and what you said is true. i did not exercise yesterday, went for a braai yesterday, visiting friends but still watching what i ate but not like diet and i am 800gr less this morning. so there is a method in the madness. saturday i did 30 min cardio and 30 min weights i dont do more than 30 kg on my arms but did 100 sit ups and weighed 1.5 kg more on sunday, i was so disgruntled but i am quite chaffed this morning, i will still weigh myself but say every second day now i do want to loose weight till i reach my goal weight but i think i lost to quickly i went from 150 the 2nd of december to 115 at the moment i still retain a lot of water i can see it in my ancles and hands though i drink 2 lt of water per day but i am on the roll now going to gym hard and eat well

Ok weight yourself once a week only, same day every week, first thing in the morning after you have been to the bathroom in the morning...u should take meausurements and photos and that's the best way to judge what you are doing...

Like I said if your clothes start feeling like a sail then u know u are loosing fat.

2l of water a day is way too little, up to at least 4l a day. Also continue with your weight training, the more muscle mass you have the faster your metabolism will become.
