I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, my apologies if not.
I have been reading up on different training methods, diets, supplements and so forth and quite honestly im overwhelmed.
There are so many differing views and opinions that i dont know what to believe. If anyone could help, im looking for guidence or places to find the correct information for a newbie wanting to start training correctly to gain good quality muscle.
Im 18
1.7 metres tall
70kg with relatively low fat
(fast metabolism)
I try to eat healthily but i dont think i eat enough to gain muscle (5 small meals a day)
Any help, dierction or guidence on training dieting and supplementation would be greatly appreciated.

His diet threads are a very good place to start. Just take it slow and take it all in...
Then post up a thread for diet and training in each section to clarify what you don't understand.
Get a bunch of opinions (everybody's got one) and go from there, but generally the senior members like DJ Squirrel Man and Mr. Pumper give good advice.
Sorry if I offend you
Its just my point of view

It can be a good place to start, but you have to alter it imo.. i.e. don't do the weights that the programme suggests and take it slow at the beginning so you don't injure your self.. Other than that its A-ok
To you it may look like I just did a push-up... But in fact, I just bench-pressed the world.

DJ wrote: look max ot for a beginner is an excellent starting place, will teach him how to train with decent weight and learn how to train to failure, yes max ot will strain your joints but that is also why they tell you to take 2 weeks off after 8 weeks of training,(its either 8 or 10 weeks) you can train with out a partner on max ot, the only thing i find i need a partner for is bench press,so i either get my wife to spot me or i use a smith machine, or go dumbells if need be, if you are taking in enough calories and joint support and omega 3 oils you wont really have an issue with your joints. if you train like a tool without correct form you will...
Theres the crux of the story.... Study the exercises you plan to do. Make sure you learn what it feels like to work the particular muscle you are targeting.
Max OT - for a beginner without the mind-muscle connection.... i dont think so.
Go for 10 reps and learn to feel the muscle with correct form.

Ive looked at the MAXOT and i think i will start there.
jackrabbit, i have previously done some training (but i feel its only aclimatised me to weight training and i feel that i am not getting the most out of it) with my school for rugby training.
I am hoping to start my training next week monday granted that my diet is in order.
Will keep you all posted on my progress.
thanks again for the help
