haven't noticed this at my VA tbh.. at the other two I used to frequent yes but at my one I go to now they just got an extra Olympic bar or two and upgraded to 65kg dumbells

To you it may look like I just did a push-up... But in fact, I just bench-pressed the world.

I was always under the impression that i go to one of the worst VA's. Maybe im wrong! Our VA received all new equipment couple of months ago, and i mean all equipment. Redone the swimmingpool and both cloakrooms. And no, its not a flagship VA

Only thing I agree with that petition , are those crappy plastic weights they bought .
They break so easy .

But downgrading....No... over crowding ..Yes

Never fraternize with them as equals, never accept them as your social equals or they will devour you, they will destroy you.

I go to a VA in durban, and they actually got two more olympic bars! not sure if the two are brand new tho

as for the standard being dropped, i doubt it, but as Acidkid said, the VA's are over crowded and that could be seen as a 'downgrade' to old members!

pain is just temporary...

Well
I personally cant train with anything except olympic bars
I have no balance when I do squats using that flimsy shit they have now, and my wrists and forearms hurt like a bitch when doing bench press

Of course it was a downgrade
There's less equipment, less weight on the tricep machine, and cheaper bars

How is that anything but a downgrade?
virgin active is exhibiting levels of incompetence that's usually reserved for government

Well my VA have just gone out and bought a whole bunch of new equipment, and all the old decent dumbells and olympic bars and new straps for leg raises etc. You just go to a kak VA lol ;)

sounds like it
which one do you go to?

it seems they've decreased the weights on the tricep machines at sandton too

i know it doesn't affect a lot of people but the new benches, both incline and flat have stickers on them that say 'max weight 180kg' lol!
it seems they've bought home gym junk

Maybe I'll got to Old Eds and scope it out. This sounds more like a random rant?
Last I was there they had a ton of new cardio equipment and a ton of old weight equipment. They've never had a lot of weights for their olympic bars, but they always had like 4 or 5 copies of the same machines to try make up for it. It's a maze of old machine equipment.
Never been my favourite gym for BB (it's a pansy gym for pansies mostly)...

Sorry if I offend you
Its just my point of view

Please do!!!
And you're right, it never used to be bad, the old weight equipment was fantastic.. all they needed to do was buy extra plates for the olympic bars and it wouldve been perfect
Anyway, they redid it on the 22nd of Jan
