Howzit guys.
Just a quick one - what are your thoughts on skipping/jumping rope (obviously Im not talking to the powerlifters here...
) ?
I train during my lunch break during the week where I have to actually train and shower & be back at the office in an hour. As a result I dont have time to do any cardio and am not big on road running.
What are your thoughts on skipping for cardio? How long would one have to skip in a session for effective fat burn to take place? I was thinking maybe 1st thing in the morning and again in the evening?
ANy advice & pointers on this or alternative cardio methods are welcome.
Thanks guys.

To subdue another tribe, you must strike it once and for all. Total war, total subjugation to the paramount king and total destruction to anyone who raises even a whisper against him! Never leave an enemy behind or it will rise again to fly at your throat! There's no other way!

It's very good cardio actually.Boxers incorporate it into their training regimen because it helps with balance and cordination.

Skipping is great when you finally get the hang of it!
(not as easy as it looks)
I recommend starting with short sessions of like 5 minutes and working your way up to longer periods.
My brother damaged his tendons in hi ankles quite badly from rushing straight into 20 minute skipping sessions.

Thanks for your replies guys.
Managed 10mins yesterday and must say my achilles tendons are actually feeling helluva tender today. Skipping is flippin hard but awesome. 10mins with the rope definitely beats the hell out of 30mins on the treadmill!

To really amp things up with skipping incoporate it into ur weight training for example do one set of arm curls rest 30 seconds skip one min rest 30 seconds the hit another set of curls this get you shredded quickly.Skipp works best when combined with other exercises to burn fat.

I like jumping rope. Bought myself one the other day, thought I was clever and jumped for quite a while, next day and a few days after my feet was sore everywhere and my ass hurt, hahaha!
Kind of hard to get the hang of it though. I jump like two meters into the air (Not really, but yeah)
