Hi guys,I was wondering,is there any advise for pain in my forearms, they say its Tendinitus,I know I must try and steer clear from the straight bar when doing biceps but its getting really bad even with the ez-bar,its frustrating cause I am running a cycle now and I wanna lift some big weights, but its keeping me back.I am taking some Cataflam now but still?

My gym partner had exactly the same problem from the straight bar. On the day he hurt himself it looked like the bar was " Hanging " in his fingers. It was the second set of warm ups and the weight was not that heavy. It was so bad that he had to take 1 week off but the rest did not work. He used Cataflam as well but it did not work well for him. He then used Difen SR 100 and the pain was gone the next day. NO MORE straight bar in the routine but we still use the EZ bar. Good luck.

I had the same problem with the straight and ez bar and I literally couldn't train arms at all. I got some forearm straps and they helped a lot. Less pressure on the forearms and helps with heavier weights. You look like a bit of a doosh but gets the job done.

You are very vague about the pain? Where exactly is it? And who says its tendonitis? What movements aggravate it?
If it is a tendonitis it is for a reason, either acute overload or chronic strain/ repetitive movements, rest will help, as can strapping and support. There are also treatments that can speed up recovery

Um, but im scared of needles...

Its about halfway up to my elbow on the outside, the pain is very bad if I am holding on too any weights, straight bar bicep curls is worst pain.I saw on Marius Dohne's debut dvd that he was talking about simular pain, and they said it was tendinitus. If strapping can work? How should I strap it?Putting deepheat on it in the gym seems to weakens my grip.

@johan- that's exactly what I had, takes a while to heal. I strapped the entire forearm. You can get some really decent forearm straps at s.warehouse for like 200 bucks, which I felt well worth saving me reps of pain :cheer:

@spike- what else could help besides straps, deep heat or voltaren? Cheers

guys, sounds a bit too distal for a tendonitits... possibly a myofascial trigger point. Treatment? Dry needling will resolve it quickly. You can strap tightly around the forearm just didtal to the tendon itself, for tendonitits, but this doesnt sound anatomically correct for tendonitits

Bud i feel for you! Had same issue in both forearms. Turned out to be tennis elbow. Got cortisone injections but it did not help much. Could not do bicep curls with straight or EZ bar, pull ups, pull downs, upright rows. I carried on like this doing lighter weights and then ended up injuring the brachialis. Dont ask me how. Long story short, 4 months out of the gym.

Be very cautious and give arm plenty of rest
