Rest between sets??? was created by VonD
Just wanted to know the amount you rest between sets and how does this time vary between bulking and cutting.

I do:

Bulking-60-90 seconds rest
Cutting-30-60 seconds rest

When I cut I keep my routine EXACTLY the same with heavy weights... Just add in 20min cardio after the weights or in the mornings and adjust my diet if I want to cut.

On squats and deads 2min rest, bi's and tri's I never rest over a min. It depends which movement one performs.

As long as it takes for me to catch my breath. 45-60 seconds on most day but come leg day I usually find myself resting for almost 3 minutes.

For creatine levels to build up in the muscle you need close to a minute 30... No difference between bulking or cutting in my opinion... I can be 12 percent fat or 5/6 and its just diet and cardio...

So its in your opinion that one does not have to train "faster" when cutting?why do all the pro's then always say when prepping they train with less rest time?

They say a lot of shit. Most of the time many of them don't even have energy to even train properly depending on what they are on haha

ok just a think here, by having less rest between sets when cutting means that you are going to fatigue very quickly on lower calories, which means u are going to be able to push less weight for less reps, there should be a maximum 30 second difference between rest periods in terms of bulking and cutting if u are pushing to failure. bulking 120-150 seconds rest is quite normal as u will be using alot heavier weights. cutting u should be still using the same weights when bulking maybe a little lighter but with slightly more volume. if u arent keeping your strength then u are either cutting calories back too much, not resting enough during sets or over doing cardio with low calories.

so if u are bulking and u are pushing for 6-8reps per set with 2-2.5mins break between each set with 100% maximum weight this is good, if u are cutting u should push for 8-12 reps with 85-90% maximum weight with 2mins rest between sets. u are still gonna be pushing to failure and u arent going to be fatiguing out before failure.
