Bulking or cutting is 90% dependent on your diet....

Your form is also very important and the amount of tension you put on the muscle eg: if you doing bench press try not to lock out on the top of your movement as this will keep the tension on your chest
That is what makes a bodybuilder a true bodybuilder, and that is to be simply.....
PURELY DIFFERENT FROM THE REST

I tried the whole gyming alone thing and with free weights I almost decapitated myself, broke my back and broke a finger. It's not safe doing free weights by yourself.
These days I train on Powertec Leverage equipment and the confidence boost it gave me is really apparent from the weights I'm doing. My form is also perfect and I train to absolute failure, because I know the machine is there to catch me when I go down. If you own a home gym and don't have a partner to spot for you or if your partner is not strong enough then you really should look at leverage equipment.
I know leverage gyms are not as effective as free weights, but I tell you that I don't see myself going back to barbell squads or bench presses anytime soon.

I use a Preacher Curl Bench and I don't lock my elbows and go down to just before they lock and this is allot more effective.
