To you it may look like I just did a push-up... But in fact, I just bench-pressed the world.

Ahem, how the hell did you get into engineering with only 59% for maths??? And you say standards have dropped nowadays?

Sorry guys Apparently it is true, cause its happened to certain people already, so I’m not taking any chances !!

Standards have dropped.... Back in the day RSA Uni Degrees actually meant something. They were listed amongst the top Uni's in the world - go check where they feature now. Even Dr's have to rewrite exams etc.

Degrees in the 80's were difficult. When i did IT through Unisa in the late 90's early 2000's(for fun) it was a freakin breeze. You get a neat little packet with all the study/class notes already condensed with small print reading "study this for the exam" on important stuff.

Engineering at TUKS was hard - 0700 to 1900 classes where you only had text books and had to compile the condensed notes yourself. No little hints from lecturers etc. i'll enroll for anything now and pass.

I think you mean to say that "being a student back in the day was harder with no caring lecturers/support". Standards haven't dropped (at least not at UCT), otherwise we wouldn't have an all time high ranking of 107th in the world. Entrance may be easier due to quotas and whatnot but I'm 100% sure that the curriculum has gotten harder across the board, if it wasn't the case then south africans would not be in demand for positions overseas
