Not sure about the "lines" he takes about, but slow reps will produce a better workout. Lately I've been working allot on my form and not so much on heavy lifts and I'm having great training sessions.

I guess the "lines" he is talking about are the "groves" you see in large muscles when guys are very lean. I would say this is more a sign of being very cut and not really your training technique... not sure.

I must agree with Admin on the great sessions. Lately I've also been focusing on going slow with the correct form and getting the full rep & extention/stretch in and my sessions are going much better.

Im also currently having a simular approach. Doing my reps slower without "locking out" the joints when doing the reps. This way i keep max contraction throughout rep. Also when doing for example arms you keep the 1 arm (bicep) contracted while doing the rep with the other arm. I use much lighter weights now and less reps (you cant go heavy or too many reps,it burns too much) and i feel like im getting more of a workout.

its negative training. Thats all. You activate more fibres, cause more damage, grow more = "lines"

To you it may look like I just did a push-up... But in fact, I just bench-pressed the world.

Lines or striations/seperation only comes from having low level body fat and full muscle bellies wih low water, water and fat is like putty and usually smooths over these lines/striations/seperations...so training won't really have an effect on brining out better lines as such other than growing bigger muscles...the onlt way u make a muscle more striated is having low level bf,low water levels and big full muscles under the skin from heavy weigh training...

I started noticing the "lines" separating the 3 main muscle of the upper quad when my quad had grown bigger and bodyfat approached 11%. So summed up you need bigger muscles and less fat.

yeah, try to focus on a 5/5 second cadence, meaning, 5 seconds on the way up and 5 seconds down, also always make sure you dont compromise on your form. I see many people in the gym, hurting their lower backs and body that way. the thought behind 5 second cadence is that you eliminate any type of momentum. you want to avoid any momentum to keep the resistance at the same amount throughout the set/reps. the slower you do it, the less you will be using momentum to make your set "easier", meaning your muscles will be worked better and harder and essentially it will grow faster and stronger.
