Training. was created by john777
Life used to be a lot simpler. I believed everything my older brother said and the books he had almost two decades ago, like Savage Sets, and so forth.
The internet. God knows how anybody trains these days. There is this Russian that says never train to failure, "keep two reps in the bank". Train frequintly but never to failure. Others dont agree.
Any ideas?

Do any program good or bad consistently with a good diet and you will get results. It's not the program it's the effort you put in.

Having said that, I personally don't go to complete failure on any exercise more than twice per week.It really depends on your plan. I get great results not going to failure but I'm sure there will be others who say they go to failure and get great results to.

Then you get Dorian Yates who trains to complete failure, Ronnie Coleman and even our own Marius Dohne.. Forget what the individuals are saying and learn your own body, find out what you body responds to... That is the beauty about bodybuilding, its such a personal sport, and the more you know your body the easier it is to break through all kinds of barriers.

Try either option for 3 months and see your results.. You may find that only a certain muscle group responds well to either type of training style..

Thanks gents sound advice. I enjoy not training to failure as I have a sport that I train for, thus being fresh for training is great.

Okay, as I need to do regular fitness tests as part of my work, which incluces a 2.4km run, maximum push ups in 60 sec, maximum sit ups in 2 min, maximum pull ups, and fastest time with 10 shuttle runs of 20 metres, bodyweight training is a big part of my training. Thus I like training weights only twice a week.
I am currently on what is called a fatigue cycling program, whereby I do deadlift, bench press and squat twice a week. One just changes the routine every time so you dont do the exercises in the same order every time. I dont train to failure, giving me the time to train bodyweight on the days I dont do strength training in the gym.
I am currently still loosing weight and I want to get to about 88 kg from 93 kg where I am now. I am on a strict diet, called the slow card diet. I eat no bread, no patato's, no rice (evern brown). Basically I get all my carbs from vegatables, which I eat a lot of. I try to eat 30 g of protein with every meal. The thing is that I am vegan, so my proteins are plant based. I know this is not ideal, but it is the way it is.
Here is my question, taking this into account, would the basic cycle of Anavar, as posted by 00Pump be a good choice for me once I get to 88kg. My goals are to max out on my fitness tests to get really, really lean while adding some muscle.
