Weight lifting straps was created by Etwa
hey guys

I'm looking to buy some new weight lifting straps. I know sportsman’s warehouse stock some but i have had bad experiences with the straps from them. They keep tearing too easy.

Any of you guys have a place in the JHB region where i can get good quality straps from?

thanks!

I hate to admit it... but my USN ones have lasted over 2 years now...

Else, get the "SCHEIK" ones (from the US)... the supplement shop at Randburg Waterfront supplies their products... or google faw distributors.

Give it a shot, you're only TESTing it...

the best straps ive used, and still use, are some homemade ones i got from ogre (old member of this site). They just a strip of nylon sewn into a loop, work great and last forever

Um, but im scared of needles...

if you want PROPER straps that wont break order online from a powerlifting brand (titan, metal, inzer). its a bit more expensive but will last you forever.

Unfortunatly, I will Support MR_SA.

I also have the USN straps, And they have been lasting for some time now. And they are a little bit padded for the Wrist aswell. For support/comfort.

@Etwa: What do you mainly use the straps for?
As Sportsmans Warehouse now has the metal hooked straps, which is awesome for deadlifts, bent over one armed rows, shrugs etc etc.

Give it a shot, you're only TESTing it...

Im also looking into the straps with the hooks. It makes more sense to me. Dont those hooks hurt the inside of your hands?

I have a pair of those cheap Health Life straps from Sportsmans and they are pretty decent, had them about a year now so we'll see how they last!

If you have to use straps, which you don't, then go to the junk yard and get and cut out a couple of old seat belts. Very cheap and a lot better to use than straps. Less pressure on the wrists and just as much extra leverage.
