There was a guy in gym tonight whom i have never seen there. I reckon he is late 30's or early 40's. This guys is so stage ready its not funny. I went to see the muscle evolution show last year and i reckon this guy would blow anybody away in his weight class (think he weighs about 85-90kg). What striked me most was that he did relatively light weights with slow deep movements focussing on form. When i mean light im talking about incline flies with 25kg dumbells, incline press with 30kg dumbells, tricep press downs with 60kg ect.

He started making conversation so i just had to ask if this type of training was what he generally does. He said that he reacts very well to this training and never really had to go heavy to get size.

Is it possible to gain that much size and look like that focussing on light weights?

Yup, I will get a clip I think I still have of my gym partner in the UK. He is mind blowing and all sets are light and controlled. My dad was a martial arts expert, and he was built and shredded by just using a bull worker and 2 dumbbells of 10kgs and a straight bar of about the same.. no gear or anything, just using his mind on every set he did, and forces tension into the weight, his negative sets where so slow and controlled and then just the same speed up.

Definitely possible, friend of mine who's a natural bodybuilder has that "Johnny Jackson thickness" whilst training with light weights but very high intensity. If you concentrate on working the desired muscle instead of working the weight you'd be surprised at how much less weight you can use but the pump you get is super crazy

Sorry guys Apparently it is true, cause its happened to certain people already, so I’m not taking any chances !!

this does work,i know that andrew hudson used this method for 80% of his contest prep last year, the biggest changes were seen when he dropped this 4 weeks out and went back to big weights with the same form.... look it works but the 5-7 second rep thing is teaching u that mind muscle connection, feeling the muscle etc,so to do it for 4-6weeks then move over to heavier weights etc is defiantly the way to go... at the end of the day look at francis benefatto who believes in this method so well,he looks great BUT has 0 functional strength in his muscles,he has torn his bicep from falling over as there is no major stabilizers getting worked creating strength in the muscle,so u might not injure yourself during training but u can easily do so picking up a box... there has to be combination between this slower from emphasis and then heavy weights at the same time... look at dorian yates...he is the king of low volume heavy weights...BUT watch his form...perfect every rep!! its all about the balance..i have done this whole 6 second rep thing,u aren't really failing,u are just fatiguing the muscle....its my view point...i dont believe that u should sacrifice form for weight but i dont think u should sacrifice weight for form either.... u need to find that balance in between... if u train max ot style with strict form i think it would be better than training Benefatto style any day of the week....

I completely agree with that DJ. Its the same as 20-25 reps for *cutting*...its wen u get too lazy(the dieting contributes to this...lol) too pick up the heavy weights and work hard for it.
I am still at about 80-90% of my upper body strength from my bulk. Legs at about 70%.
And i am not a powerlifter, but i do believe u should be able to pick up em heavy weights...and i believe u should look the part. Not be as strong as average joe but double his size. Look at the sick weights Ronnie used. SICK. And he was one of the freakiest bbers.

Regards

Bite off more than u can chew, then chew like hell!
