Gym in the mornings was created by du Preez
Hi there

So I am going to start my training in the mornings. Wake up @ 05H15, hit gym @ 05H30 - 06H30. I will take my pre supps @ 05H15. When do I take breakfast, after gym? I am a bit confused, I have done a lot of reading but I am not sure about when to take breakfast and to train on a empty stomach?!

Regards

know it sucks but rather get up 15min earlier and take your prewo supps at 5. what do you take prewo? most prewo supps supposedly work better when taken on an empty stomach. after gym just take your normal postwo whey, carbs etc and have breakfast after that.

From my experience, doing cardio in the morning on an empty stomach does wonders for fat loss. During cardio-vascular exercise the body searches for energy and in the absence of food there is a greater chance that fat reserves will be used. I used to do cardio in the mornings on an empty stomach and it was then that I was at my all time lowest bodyfat %.

I'm not sure about weight training on an empty stomach - you might need to eat something otherwise you may pass out.

ps. sorry didn't mean to thank you - using my laptop and this finger pad clicks on everything, but have a "thankyou" anyway.

Training at 5am in the mornings was my life for a very long time and I tried every move imaginable and the best is still two green apples + 50g whey and the your pre-workout stuff.

Have any of the guys seen this article on fasted training? It challenges conventional wisdom and backs it up with what appears to be very sound science and loads of test cases and testimonials. In fact the whole site is causing quite a stir.

I think DJ, you will find it very interesting bud.

I have tried it for a month now and I feel awesome in the gym every morning, just on BCAA's. It's worth a read I think. Not saying it's the best or the only way, but it's worth looking at.

bro,it might be quite a stir but i follow what alot of the top guys say, alot of them recon, hany rambod and george farah, that you should train with at least 2-3 meals in you,but sometimes this isnt possible so 1 will have to do.... also alot of these guys that do all this research etc, might be shredded themselves but how many guys do they get into contest shape, francis benefatto has some strange ideas when it comes to dieting and training and even said that he will get mario van biljon to win the overalls at the sa's last year, last year i thought mario looked at his worst ever working with francis, yet francis is shredded, competition shape?? not everyone is the same and alot of the time alot of these things may work for some but not everyone...

Hey, there is a few things in that article that has allot of truth, one medical study I read a few years back showed you can promote huge muscle growth by just having 2 servings of protein a day... will try dig it up.

Martin Berkhan quotes a ton of science on that site. Some of those case studies of the guys following his whole IF (Intermittent Fasting) plan are inspiring to say the least. It's really for those guys wanting to get lean.
I have tried it for a month and have dropped a lot of fat, have tons of energy in the gym, and my lifts have gone up slightly, but I think that's got to do more with my new training program (lower reps, more weight)
I have done it completely off cycle. I am starting my cutting cycle on Monday, so if you're interested I'll let you know how that goes.
Anyway, I'm not saying it's for everyone, but it sure as hell has worked for me so far:)
