Bench reps was created by killjoy
Hi,
This is my Bench workout:
Flat Bench
1 rep x10 60% of mx bench
1 rep x 8 80% of mx bench
1 rep x 6 100% of max bench
The same would happen for incline and all other chest programmes.
Please let me know if this is correct as im getting some confusing looks when telling people about it??

100% of your max means 1 rep. Or else you doing 100 percent of your 10 and 8 too.
So what you mean is you doing a max of 12 reps with x weight, 8 reps, etc

ja that doesn't make sense, no wonder people are checking you out weird!
other than warm-up you should take the heaviest weight you possibly can. for instance if you do 10 reps you should take a weight you can only do 10reps with, if you can do more reps it's too light. push yourself untill failure. and if you want more size do fewer reps and more sets.

Sorry my bad its one set of 10 reps, followed by a set of 8 followed by the last set of 6...
Starting with 60kgs then moving on to 75kgs and then the last set 95kgs.

Either way, its the same thing. You simply say I can press 95kgs for 6 reps..

killjoy well it's not wrong but it's the basic way of training to get to know your body. I don't put a number on my reps, if I get 5 great if I get 10 great. Depending on what mood i'm in that day and if i'm feeling brave or not or if I have a spotter or not... And most of the time the spotter does nothing but just makes me feel secure that somebody is there if something goes wrong.
