Max ot and legs was created by juiced169
Hi guys since i downloaded the max ot book from this site i have been following its principals i must say this was very similiar to the way i used to train before i read the max ot book but now im doing as the book says. Really enjoying it and strenth is going up all the time im also on gear at the moment so i know thats more what is helping. The only problem i find with max ot is leg training i personally find my legs need more stimulation to grow i know when i have had a really good leg workout because a can barely walk down the stairs of the gym to the change room. Max ot only has 2 exercises for quads with an average of 5 sets and hamstrings 1 exercise 2 sets. Know i dont know about the rest of you guys but i personally feel that i need just a little more than this for legs. The rest of max ot works great its just legs. I would like to see what you guys reckon about this as well.

Haha, shame bro. Well I dont use the entire Max OT regime, but I do subscribe to some of the principles... I also find I need a little more stimulation for my legs, but not too much... I prefer to go as heavy as possible. In fact legs is my quickest workout, and I still limp out of there or fall over on my last set of unweighted, cool down lunges
But then the difference in my routine lies in the fact that I split legs into 3 different workouts... Quads on wednesday, calves on tues and thurs, and hamstrings on sat. This way I can add SO much more intensity to my workout as I dont have to stop and still manage another muscle group after. For instance today I did 4 warm up sets on squats, building up the weight. Then 4 Heavy sets to failure (someone had to stop me from hitting the floor on my last rep). Then I went and did 4 sets on leg extensions with max weight (the entire stack). Then I warmed down with unweighted lunges across the gym, fell over and called it a night... My legs are still aching 7 hours later...

juiced I've also had a similar problem with max ot as the rest intervals are too long to maintain a pump so I decided to half the rest period and boy is it working wonders

Remeber a pump has very little to do with muscle growth, and one can easily go to a gym and use some light machines/cables and get extreme pumps that will disappear by the time you leave or an hour or so after.
However, longer rests + heavy weights + pumping iron you might not get the same pump but you are going to build muscle. You not looking to boost your ego by walking around pumped up in the gym but looking at what will build muscle when you walk out of there.

True pump, but psychologically the pump is important for a little motivation

Juiced I had the same problem as you so what I did was add in a few isolation excersizes or alternately I cycle for 10 minutes to get the blood flowing. I found that the cycling makes a big difference in my leg workout in that I can go heavier quicker and that my legs feel more worked afterwards.

Shot for all the feedback guys appreciate it. Yeah think im going to change it around a little when it comes to legs and do a few more sets for quads as for the rest of my body max ot seems to be 100%. Was just a little worried as the way they make you read that book on max ot its like if you dont follow everything to a T it wont work.

I believe it is very well structured and if you don't use the program for 4-6 months, don't expect to know if it works for your legs or not.

To you it may look like I just did a push-up... But in fact, I just bench-pressed the world.

i find i have the same problem as dead, i love max-ot, but by the time i am ready to do chest for example after a weeks break, i feel extremely "deflated" (think thats how to describe it
) like i didn't really work the said body part the week before, probably normal but i haven't really asked anyone else ha ha
