Day1: Back
Day2: Chest and abs
Day3: Legs
Day4: Shoulders, rear delts, traps and calves

When I feel that I didn't work calves properly during day four then I'll go in on a 6th day to just do calves.
Hope this helpes.

I alternate the Chest, Legs, and Back days between Mon-Wed depending on what feels like it'll get a better workout.
Also, I sometimes shift all days by one (ending work on saturday) if I need to throw in a rest day during the week due to being to busy on that particular day. I'll still start on the next monday though so essentially some weeks my two rest days are together and others they are divided through the week...

I've tried in the past and if I train more than 3 days in a row then come day 4 and I'm too buggered to train properly
Train harder than the guy next to you and one day, no-one will be able to touch you

See thats my problem, its more my mind isn't there, I still have strength but I don't want to push.. hard to explain, I just don't feel i'm really doing it properly, I really have to take wed off, I find when I trained to the clock, every 3rd day off regardles of what day it landed on I could train like a machine...

that's exactly what I mean!
also, you grow when you're resting, so in my mind 5 continuous days a week could actually be counter productive

since I've started training 5 days a week I feel awkward if I skip a day, or train less than 5 days a week.
I started at 3x a week, moved to 4x a week,
NOW I'm addicted to 5x a week :silly:

And may I add that with DJ's diet and cycle help I have gained 6,5kg(minimal water) in first 4 weeks on cycle and 5 weeks on strict diet. End Jan 2010 was 85,5kg and this morning after training 92kg.

Its not a great idea training chest and triceps or back and bicep together as you engage those muscles a lot while working the other. if you do chest you use quite a bit of tricep in the movements as its a pushing movement. Same with back because you use a lot of biceps with back as its a pulling movement.Seeing, that while on gear, you do recover a lot faster, do people think the following will be practical:
Day1 - Chest, Triceps, Calves
Day2 - Back, Biceps, Abs
Day3 - Quads, Hams
Day4 - Shoulders, Triceps, Calves
Day5 - Biceps, Forearms, Abs
I'm still of the opinion that my training split up top gives you the best rest of all the muscles thus giving you the opportunity to hit the gym hard every time you go.
