hey guys just wanted to hear you're opinions on this:
we all train in such a way that we hit a muscle group once or maybe even twice a week right?
this is to allow the respective muscle to recover fully before training it again, but looking at training from an adaptation standpoint don't you think that you can maximize results by training the same muscle group two days in a row?
what I mean is, when we train a muscle the body perceives this external stimulus as a threat to it's very existance so it pumps nutrients into the muscle being trained, starts the recovery process and you're muscle grows bigger and stronger.
now what if you hit that same muscle group the next day again?
would you're body not see this as an even greater threat and "ramp up" the whole process?
I'm a bit sceptical about it coz I still have trouble brushing my teeth some mornings after a heavy workout never mind even thinking about training the same muscle group again, but I reckon it could be perfect as a bit of a shock treatment every few months if you can handle it?

would love to hear you're comments :)

it sounds almost logical, but there's gotta be a line drawn somewhere you know?
it might be a bit too much and we would be hampering our recovery making things worse...

not an expert on the subject, but this is what i have read, and seen. Most of the big pro bodybuilders train twice a day, which means that they get to train the same muscle group twice a week. have never seen them train the same muscle group the next day.
In theory, i'm sure this may work, if you eat twice as much?

Tried training twice a day a while ago, found that i was way more tired, and spent a lot more time at the gym. gains werent as great as i would have liked, but then what doesnt work for me, may work for someone else.

My 2 cents.......

Its all about recovery, which i doubt would happen in 24hours.A strained muscle will pain because your body is still trying to repair the damaged tissue which takes up to 7 days normally,so if you train it while its sore you basically hampering your recovery process by breaking down more muscle tissue before your body is done fixing it.That theory might work on a juice cycle because your recovery is up to 7 times faster than normal...Still worth a try though.

guinea pig is here!!!

I injured my elbow this week. So it limits my training.

Will hit chest again tonight.

But only on peck deck and what ever else does strain the elbow

I wouldn't suggest doing something like this for a long time though.
maybe try 4-6 weeks and log you're progress?

I found a interesting training routine that a competing pro was using where he does a light tricep workout paired with chest/shoulders and a heavy near the end of the week. The same with biceps paired with back, light and heavy to the end. Think he did like 2 exercises reduced sets for the light.... Wanted to try that.... If I can find it I'll post it....

Another thing though, wathced a video of a US natural pro who had really impressive Biceps and someone asked him what he did. He said he had some symmetry problems one year and decided to train biceps every two weeks and focus on triceps more till they catch up. He said he made the most gains he ever has for 6 months in his biceps which was the total opposite of what he was trying to achieve.... So maybe something to try as well.

Everyone is different.

Give your lagging muscle a break ever so often. I must say, though my calves don't struggle to grow, I only train them every so often lately and they seem to be growing a lot.

One important point tiny was trying to bring across is that your body can only repair so much in so little time. So some can hit it twice a week and see reward. Some once. The reason that nobody (or nobody I know) can hit the same muscle the very next day is that there is only so much punishment your body will take! Eventually the signals for growth and repair just get overwhelmed and your body says fookit. I give up, then it cuts its loses and just goes with what muscle it can repair and leaves the rest. Net muscle loss...

But as Larsey said each to their own. If you want to give it a bash maybe you are one of the genetically few that have never known they can do this (though I seriously, seriously doubt it).

Sorry if I offend you
Its just my point of view
