a very stubborn body part in general man.
I believe that since calves recover really quickly you can train them far more often than other body parts.
I like twice a week, others do more, some others do less.
you gotta try judge what's gonna work best and fit nicely into you're individual routine.
seated and standing calve raises are all the exercises you need.
go super heavy and as many reps as you can manage before you're calves explode!

Train harder than the guy next to you and one day, no-one will be able to touch you

For a kick-ass calve exercise, try dumbell skips.Hold 2 fairly light weight dumbells in each hand,8-10kg whichever you prefer. Then jump on your toes with your heels never touching the ground,go for 4 x sets of 10.

For my matchstick legs I found heavy drop sets of seated calf raises works best. 4 sets of 15 reps, start with 4plates per side then do 15 then drop 1 off each side etc. Do this twice per week and I promise you wont be able to walk LOL.

I also like to drop set calves, twice a week.

Like to go heavy on either standing or seated then hop over to the other one and do moderate weight as part of my drop/super set.

Sorry if I offend you
Its just my point of view
