Torn Peck

Firstly I'm 25 years old, from Pretoria, have about 10 years training experience on and off.
3 months ago I tore my left peck (major and minor) I had a grade2 tear and I was out of the gym for 3 months so it could heal, went for fisio etc etc.
Got back in the gym and took it slow on the bench, warmed up quite good was benching 30kg for my 2 first sets at 20 reps.
Then on my 3rd set went for 45kg and still felt good.
Then I went for 60kg on my 4th set and on the 3rd rep I heard that familiar "pop" sound and then felt that same sharp pain I experience 3 months ago.
It was not as bad as the first time so I'm assuming this is only a grade1 tear of that I only pulled the muscle.
So this puts me back at square 1.
My question is,will it help me to heal a bit quicker if I use steroids or will it cause the muscle to have a weaker repair process ?
Not to sure about this and I realy dont want to wait another 3 months before going back to the gym,I realy wish I had just stuck to the 30kg for a month or 2 and this might not have happened again, but ja.Too late for that now.
Any advise or tips would be very much appreciated.
Thanks in Advance.

Right.....keep your advise to yourself in the future.
I already clearly stated that I know it was a mistake to try to jump for 60 but like I said..whats done is done.

I would let it heal for the next 3 months or so.
I would then go to a doctor and let them scan the muscle for weak spots and so on.
He then should be able to tell you how the muscle looks. I had to do it for my left bicep.
Some doctors have that scanning machine in their room . I think its call a sonar gram.
I can only train light with my arms atm. Anything heavy give a sharp pain or my arm gives in.
For healing Deca would be my choice m but only after the scan.
( I reckon keep the sets light for up to 6 months + deca , get the muscle checked and try increasing the mass slowly)
Chances are lifting heavy out of the question for a long time.

Man I'm so stupid, realy wish I did not go for the 60.
I phoned a this guy that I know (former sa bodybuilder a few years back). He had the same tear in his peck and he suggested that I try some equipoise but that I only train my legs, arms etc and stay away from chest for about 2 months.
After that If my peck feels better I should try very light weights and take it slow for another 2-3 months and then next year I can try lifting a bit heavier. So I will give that a shot and see if its all better next year.Lifting heavy is obviously out of the question but if I could at least get up to 110 or 120kg somewhere next year then I will be happy.

I trained lightly for 6 months and go the arm scanned every now and then.
I never go to heavy after that.
I rather be safe that sorry.
Let it heal for as long as possible. If it tears again you could be out for longer than the initial healing period!

I never use winny anyways, tried it once and did not like it.
Going for EQ at 200mg per week for 10 weeks then I'll take it to 400mg for another 5 weeks.
Not a very high dosage but it should be enough just to give me a boost for the recovery.

Problem with goin back to gym is that your stabalizing (very small) muscles are completely "pap"
Quickest way (for me)to see this is trying to incline bench with 15kg dumbell's - you swerve all over the place and allthough you get it up you feel like there is no control. (normally use 45 - 50's to give you an idea)
So before trying to use gear getting your big muscles all good and strong FIRST get the muscles that keep the big muscles in place strong and fit.
This in the end will make you stronger, less prone to injury and better formed.
Story: My mate from varsity could squat (in sets of 6) around 160kg. He went to a biokineticist after a knee injury and trained core and stabalizing muscles intensively for almost 2 months. He came back and could do sets of 145kg standing on a ROUND Pilatus ball.
How many of you can do that?

This is a bit off topic but a would seriously suggest you see a biokineticist.

Never in my life would I try doing squats on pilatus ball, this sounds like something looking into and it does make a lot of sense.

You will never catch me ding something stupid like that. Ever think of what will happen if something goes wrong?
You dont train like this weekly, when you do you ensure you have people assisting you. You also firstly need to to able to stand on the damn thing! The point is not to train heavily when doin this but develop your core and stabalizing muscles.
I lifted my benchpress with 15kg after doing my bench-press routine on a round Pilatus ball every second week. When on the ball I used 80-90kg for sets. On the bench-press I use 120-130kg.
When starting I used just the bar. When my friend started he used two 10kg dumbells that he hold in his hands.
Hope this helps - and yes, it was worth the effort for me.

I can honestly say that I think this will develop your muscle better than any other method of training by far,but it is not something I will try and it sounds damn hard.

Give it a try, just get to a biokenetics guy first to ensure you do it right. You will see that your injury will heal much faster.
