I have huge issues with lagging calves they just wont grow.
So i started this method a week ago and my calves are killing me.
when im at home and i dont go to the gym i do a 100 bodyweight calf raises when im at gym i do standing or seated 100 calve raises with a 20kg weight. Will see in a few months if i get results. I got my info from here if you up for a read

I found there are mainly two reason people find it difficult to grow calves.
1. Isolating the muscle.
It can be difficult isolating the calve muscle when training it. You need to feel the burn and make sure that you do slow negative reps. You also need to go down all the way and then back up all the way in order to work the entire muscle. Another aspect is working the whole muscle. Depending on foot placement (feet pointing out, feet straight or feet pointing in) you can work different areas. Doing one leg at a time also helps as you tend to favour the stronger leg when doing calves.
2. Doing enough sets
Another major mistake people make is not training the muscle enough. When you generally ask people how much time they spend on biceps they'll say about 30 to 45 minutes. Ranging from 3 to 4 sets. But when asked how much time they spend on calves it's fat less. Maybe 2 or 3 exercises after doing upper legs. This is not nearly enough considering that your biceps are smaller than your calves (well meant to be at least, haha). Doing only 2 or 3 sets is not going to give you the results that you want. Training legs is hard enough as it is so I do my legs on Wednesday and do my calves separately on a Friday.
Hope this helps,
