Help me out here guys
Im trying to figure out if this is normal
Last meal is at about 5:30pm
60grams of oats and 2 scoops whey
gym time is at 6:30pm
No matter what exercise im doing for the day, the second I begin on the very 1st set, around rep 4, my muscles begin to hurt, as in pain, not extreme pain that would make me stop, but uncomfortable pain, more like ive done 3 sets already to failure type of pain.
Could this be rest, too much weight or just low pain threshold?
I do however have a low pain threshold..
not going heavy just feels to me like im wasting my time, I tend to always go heavy that would cause me to fail on about the 10 - 12 rep which I think is the correct way
What do you guys think?

does this persist, or ease once you get into the workout?

Do you warm up enough?

My 1st 2 sets are warmups and then the pain starts to kick in on the actual sets
Sorry incorrect on my part that's the last meal leading up to gym time, I eat again at 8:30 and 10pm

2 sets is quite little for warming up, especially on heavy compound movements. I do 8 warmup sets for squats & deadlifts and 5 or 6 for bench press, starting at a third to a half of my max weight. Really helps alot because if you dont warmup properly, you'll be stiff and will probably mess up your form which could result in pain

How many years have you been training? Has it always been painful? Consulted a doc to eliminate the possibility of any latent illness? Tolerance of lactic acid build-up will improve if you persevere with training

Thanks for the reply mack
Been training for about 12 weeks now, never had this sort of pain before, ive noticed something new after the last few sessions
A deep breath after gym causes shooting pains, like spikes down my arms at the same time, and any sort of muscle strain causes intense pain in my muscles, this is after a workout, almost like im being stabbed with a knife in the muscle
Maybe time to see a doctor, but Im going to do a bit of reading this morning on CNS fatigue and see if this could not be that
