help with lagging body parts was created by Empire
How many of u guys who have got lagging body parts have been for deep tissue massage and or dry needling? I have always had needling done from my chiro on small trigger points and injuries but I have been getting sports massage done every week for the last couple weeks and the results have been paying off, strength has gone up in alot of motions as I am not impinged the muscle is smooth and relaxed with no adhesions. If u guys really want to help yourselves out and work on point u find battle to grow like calves or biceps get them massaged. It can only be described as excruciating in terms of pain but that's only if u are very bunched up and have loads of trigger points to release. But it is worth every penny. If the impingements are quite deep then get dry needling done to release them in the deeper fibers of the muscles u honesty can feel like a victim of a mob beating after a good session of needles or massage but when u get full range of motion back into a muscle it makes a massive difference. Also massaging weak points will bring nutrient rich blood into the area and will help aid recovery alot quicker.

Agree 100% with the above. My bench was stagnating with no strength or size gains in a while, pecs and shoulders always tight no matter what stretching I did. Just a few sessions at the sports massage sorted it out. Feel much looser after and also feel noticeably stronger. Much easier to push myself to the limit.
Pec massages hurt like a mofo, kinda like giving birth I imagine

Prof Noakes describes these techniques in "Lore of Running" - says they are the only really effective treatment for chronic muscle tears
