Am I Over doing the Cardio.... was created by Rookie
I am for ever bombarded with the comment that I am over doing the cardio.
I do and hour of weight training at 5am, started with 20min low intensity Cardio on the Cross Trainer / Orbi Track.
12:00 I'm back at the gym for more intense Cardio.
Half an hour of Tyre action, Flipping it, Bashing it with a sledge hammer, pushing it around....
10min of the Rowing machine, aim for 1km under the 5min
10min on the Cross Trainer / Orbi Track, and slow intensity.
The 12:00 Cardio session has mainly to due with fitness for Obstacle Races like the Warrior Race.
My stats: 94kg with 13% body fat, all around the lower abs (the top 4 abs are showing)
My goal is two fold, but the main goal is to get lean with no flab. and secondly get fitter for the race.
Any advice on how to approach my scenario??

To you it may look like I just did a push-up... But in fact, I just bench-pressed the world.

Doesn't seem too overboard. I expected to open this thread and read about hours per day. If you are getting burnt out then maybe, but apart from that you just seem very active.

I carb cycle to prevent this, but I do burn out every now and then, or late in the week.
One of the other concerns is high cortisol levels due to too much cardio.
The latest Muscle Evolution has a mention of the raised cortisol levels which has a negative effect on keeping muscle gains.

It does effect muscle wastage, yes. But how much is debatable at best if your diet and supps and sleep etc is all going well. To be honest man you aren't doing that much cardio, you could tone down the frequency if you are worried? i.e. do the explosive stuff at 12pm only 3 times a week.

I do weights and cardio as well as sport 5 days a week. Ok I am injured at the moment so my intensity isn't as high as it could be but I still find myself losing fat with my body weight for the most part staying constant which is what I want.
