Twice a day training was created by Etwa
Anyone that have done it?
Did you experience strength or size gains?

How did you adapt your nutrition program to it as opposed to training once a day?

Here is what i know on the subject.

Keen to know what your experiences were.
Really keen to understand how to adapt the macronutrient values to this type of training. is it as simple as just adding 20% of your daily macs?

I train twice a day most days. But I'm not a hardcore lifter like many of the guys here are. All I can say is that over the years training twice daily has kept me fit

I do the opposite. Cardio mornings and weights evenings.

Pyro, looking to do twice a day weight training bud. lots of studies indicating that if done correctly you can see up to a 20% diffirence is size and strength. I train mainly for hypetrophy so the idea is to keep each weight training session no longer than 30 minutes. Heavy ass weight compound movement in the AM and isolation higher reps (12-15) in the PM.

So would you train the same muscle group twice a day?

Funny I did something like that yesterday. I trained chest in the morning all pressing excercizes and just had no gas left to do any quality flys so when I went for my cardio in the evening I did 2 heavy sets of incline flys and 2 sets of flat flys. this morning my chest looked like I need to wear a bra and feels nice and tight.
It's not something I've ever done before but it sure worked.

Go big or go home...

yes, you would not do the same exercises for your AM and PM workouts though, but they would be the same muscle group.

To be honest with you bud I haven“t looked into something like this because to me it just sounds like complete overtraining. I thought you meant for example cardio in the mornings and weights at night, or as another example you do Quads in the morning, and then target the rest of the muscles (Hamstrings and Calves) later on in the day. There would be an advantage to that yes.

just make sure your diet is zoned in with enough calories and you at least running a decent cycle.

This would only work if you are young enough to recover quickly along with the right nutrition and lots of sleep. Less than 8 hours sleep and you would really struggle to recover and avoid overtraining. Or if you are older or with lower IGF1 and test levels you'd need a lot of gear/hgh to aid recovery. Even so I think it would still take quite some time to adjust where you would be in constant pain. But hey, no pain no gain.

Heavy weight training twice a day is a lot more demanding physically than training for most sports twice a day so good luck.

I agree MA but I am referring to the heavy lifting once and the more isolation movements in the 2nd session. Def gh and test should be used in this period. I took thst for granted because im almost always using gh

Agree bud Phil Heath has a little bit of gear to aid his recovery. I vote give it a try and give us some feedback! I think even with a lot of gear it will still leave some requirements from your genetics. I for example would never be able to do that not a chance.

If I were you I would first try doing separate body parts on the same day and see how that goes. Also cals a LOT higher. Then if you cope fine with that then give it a go!

thanks guys. I didnt mention i am on cycle. I dont think i will attempt this if not on cycle...

I have been trying this for a week now and i have to say i feel soo much fuller and harder. its as though my gains just come quicker. my PM workout does not suffer because of my AM workout.

Koe, you get what im saying completely, both AM and PM are weight training but both are totally diffirent in objectives.

Rule of thumb is to do twice a day training only for a max of 4 weeks in a row and workouts need to be spaced 6-8 hours apart.
