Achillies strain was created by mack
I strained an Achillies this morning, doing standing calf raises with a 90kg barbell. I’ve had plenty of sports injuries, but first time ever for an Achillies, and I’ve been doing calf raises for many years. Strange that it happened with quite a light load. This study www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/7778710 says anabolics make tendons ‘stiffer’. Has anyone else had this?

That study is bullshit as far as what you are trying to understand from it bro. It doesn't even mention what steroids they used on the rats in the abstract. There are a lot of different steroids that have different effects on your tendons and ligaments. Some beneficial and some will aggrevate tendon problems.

I'm trying to understand what you're implying. Are you on cycle now and what? Are you thinking of taking steroids now? Do you want to know what will help recovery?

MA, I'm about 2 weeks into bridge between cycle and PCT, using Winstrol 1ml/EOD and 40mg Proviron ED. I'm just wondering if this is an issue

Winstrol is the culprit. It wreaks havoc on your tendons and ligaments. It promotes collagen synthesis but it doesn't do a very good job of it which results in more brittle tendons. Problem is that winstrol makes you stronger so you want to push heavier but need to resist the urge.

Not a good idea to continue with it if you have an injury.
