Lateral Deltoids - Help needed was created by vinna152
Hey guys,
This place is so full of information that I usually just search for it and find it without having to make a post. So I usually just read up on what I need but this is a special case.
I gym at home and have a bench, weights and a pull up bar so I make use of them best I can. I've been training for quite some time after a 2 year break and I've noticed my shoulders aren't developing equally. I've started taking form into consideration from about my second week as I was usually just gunning to get my workout finished but I've noticed my lateral deltoids are lacking behind in size and strength.
I'd just like some advice as to targeting them specifically and preventing my anterior deltoids from taking over or assisting too much.
My shoulders have always been my weak spot and I would really like to get this sorted out.
Edit: I found this link www.simplyshredded.com/muscle-specific-h...enno-henselmans.html It's quite a detailed explanation. Would this solve my problem or would you guys recommend something else?

I've incorporated the principles from that article and I find it very helpful and effective.
Now face pulls, reverse flies, and side raises with internal rotation have become staples for me.
My other favourite for posterior delts is one-arm upright rows. Try them and see if they work for you

With delts in I've generally found that good form is really important or else you end up "cheating" without even realizing it.
A while ago I dropped my working weights for shoulder exercises and really focused on slow movements with good form, making sure I was not activating other muscle groups to assist the lifts.
I found this especially relevant for exercises such as front and lateral raises.
I believe that this helped.
Also, warming up with really light weights.

I'm overworking my front delts so they assist in most cases. I'm wondering if I go lighter with good form as you said the front will completely disengage.
Thanks for the help so far guys

Do you do incline rear delt flys as part of your workout?
