Workout A+B 5x5 Compound Movements

I'm looking for other opinions on training with lower reps with basic compound movements for strength increase before shredding muscle with the common higher volume split routines for pure Hypertrophy.
Workout A
Squat 5x5
Bench Press 5x5
Barbell Row 5x5
Workout B
Squat 5x5
Overhead Barbell Press 5x5
Deadlift 1x5
Workout A and B rotated every Monday Wednesday and Friday.
My experience with this programme so far has seen my Squat increase from 110-125. Bench Press 80-85. Deadlift 115-130. And nice results on other exercises, all in 2 weeks.
I've spoken to a couple of PTs at the gym I'm working at and done a bit of research and in the next 2 weeks I'm looking to lower the rep range slowly while increasing weight. Decreasing all the way to 1 to 2 reps.
Opinions please.
Thanks in advance

Personally at the moment I'm doing high reps(20 plus) on legs and supper setting leg press and squats and am seeing my best results off cycle ever. So 5 sets of low reps once or twice a week seems far to little to see decent results.
Go big or go home...

Anyway, good to hear you take your warm-ups seriously. The warnings of injuries and joint troubles should be headed.
If you keep a log, let us know your progress.

I didn't want to open another thread about this and I need some advice on this.
I've been doing the 5x5 for 2weeks now and I want to know if I can add any other isolation or body weight exercises to this.
Workout A
Squat
Bench press
Dead lift
Workout B
Squat
Barbell rows
Barbell overhead press
I usually have energy left after I'm done with workout B, so is it advisable to do any extra work. In either 1 or both of the sessions?

To you it may look like I just did a push-up... But in fact, I just bench-pressed the world.

And will start adding weighted dips on workout A, and weighted pull ups and lateral raises on workout B..
