hey guys wondering if you can help..
about two weeks back i was doing dumbell flies with 5kg on side 10kg the other as i was too lazy to even it out...
ever since then I've had problems with my left wrist if i push to left it or put pressure in it, it hurts like hell but that's what i been told to do to stretch out the tendon, it helps alot but the next morning or if i don't stretch it for a few hours it hurts like a bitch again..

been taking cold freeze and painkillers which doesn't help much..

any ideas on how to stop the pain would be great

You might have strained your tendon causing it to become inflamed and placing pressure on the tendon sheath (this what causes the pain in this case).

Painkillers are not going to reduce the inflammation, only give you false security which can cause you to make it worse.

You need to rest your wrist, ice it every day and take an anti-inflammatory. Keeping it immobilised in a brace is can also aid recovery.

That is assuming that it is a tendon strain and not something else like carpal tunnel syndrome or a joint issue.

Edit: Also, get a professional opinion, perhaps try a physiotherapist first as there are a number of physical tests they can do to diagnose or exclude certain conditions/injuries.

For any tendon strain, take an anti inflammatory with a mild muscle relaxant, it works wonders. What I get iss Panamor (generic of Voltaron) and Spasmed, take 1 Panamor + 2 Spasmed 3 times a day after a meal for a week...should sort you out.

If that doesnt work, go to the doc and get Pax (stronger muscle relaxant) to add to the mix in the evenings...I got that for my shoulder strain and I was good to go after a week.

Worth mentioning: your wrist probaly won't heal unless you give it a chance to rest and heal so skip with upper body stuff for a week. Make it a legs only week :)

on Monday i wore the wrist support and at night had no pain at all...
this morning felt like my hand would fall off, i think the way im sleeping is making it worse

the pain is no longer the wrist but now when i put pressure on thumb.. that section of hand running down to wrist hurts

its not that serious anymore hopefully it'll be gone by end of week

Sounds like inflammation.

Ice and take some voltaren or cataflam, will be back to good in no time at all. REST it for a couple of days

I had the same thing buddy, it hurts like hell. Saturday when I started training I wanted to pack up and leave it hurt so much. Been going on like this for 3 or 4 weeks.

One thing I swear by when it comes to joint support is Glucosamine, it really really works. I went to Clicks and found these tablets called OSTEOFLEX ULTRA. I started taking these tablets on Saturday and Monday when I trained again I did triceps without the pain I had previously and triceps normally hurt the most as the wrists are more involved.

Go check OSTEOFLEX out here:

Hope it helps for you as it did for me.
