Hi Gents,
I have been reading the info on the AST website regarding Max-OT training as referenced on this website. Been training with a lot higher reps 8-15, 4 sets and trying to go max on the last set in that rep range.
Would just like to know what kind of success people have had following this method of training. It seems a bit counterintuitive, though a lot of the info makes sense. But then there are so much info and different methods out there it gets a bit confusing.
Cheers.

the biggest thing that max ot teaches people is possitive failure when weight training...with out it u really arent training to full potential.. alot of people end their sets because they have reached the number of set reps they have made not because they have muscle failure whilst achieving that number of reps... so essentially they arent pushing to their max to get the greatest benefit from weight training... so be it choosing your rep range to be between 4-6 8-10 or 10-12 the biggest thing is to make sure you achieve positive failure with a heavy weight to force muscle growth.

Cool....thanks DJ for the feedback! So as long as i'm trying to go a bit further every time, regardless of rep range, should be hitting that growth curve.
Completed a 2 month conditioning course now and maybe the Max-OT would be a good option to start on just to switch things up and keep the body guessing.
Very little focus/mention on cardio training so far (reading week 6). Is it not included at all?
