I'd say do them in the morning right before your morning shit.
There are too many parameters to your question. What has 6pm or the time you finish your training got to do with anything?
What's the goal of you doing push ups? What's the rest of the workout contain? How many sets and reps are you planning?

@dC - the time has nothing to do with it
The goal is just to keep lean n keep strength up
The rest of the workout depends on the which day..like I do them on chest day only
I was thinking of doing like 5 sets till failure on all workout days, and maybe increase as time goes on? what do u think?
And tanx

Push ups aren't going to keep you lean, your diet is. I dont really see the point in doing them everyday if your on a proper training program.

I agree with Manery here. Diet will keep you lean. Doing push ups on every workout seems complete over kill, there is no reason not to put them in with your chest day but again it depends on what other stuff you have on your chest day.
The problem with push ups is it's hard to load them. Instead of doing reps till failure, rather look at doing a 4 second negative with them, that will seriously work them hard if you're unable to load the push ups.
Alternatively - do them in the morning when you wake up or before bed at night as an extra bit of bodyweight work.
