Cardio... was created by Bandit
When doing cardio (cycling) can I just get heart rate up and then cruise or must I add resistance throughout? Doing 30miin cardio every morning when I wake up.

Are you trying to lean out a little or is it for fitness?

Thanks for the link. This might be a stupid question but how do you know what your maximum heart rate is ? And when doing cardio what do you look at or what is most important

1. Time
2. Heart Rate
3. Calories burned (VA machines probably not to accurate)
4. Something else ?

Thanks guys

Another quick question, is cycling for 30min a day sufficient or should one add different cardio exercises in to your routine?

Is it needed? Are your results better when mixing it up?

well i couldnt tell you because ive always done that. if you get your heart rate into the 'fat burning zone' and theres enough resistance you'll burn fat whether its on a bike or treadmill. i like to change it up because i get bored of doing the same shit ha ha

Hahha yeah. Gets fucken boring cycling for 30min. I sit right at the back and most mornings there's some eye candy infront of me which makes the experience a little better.

I do 10-15 min intervals and push my heart rate into the 90% zone. That's about 185bpm and then after ten minutes i rest 5 minutes. Do nothing. The intervals creates a bigger hormonal stress response to release epheniprene and adrenaline. The problem is that the longer you stay in that zone( glycogen burning/ lactic acid threshold), the body will halt ephen. and adrena. release and less fat breakedown. I then rest 5 min. do nothing. drink water and wait
for the fatty acids to get mobilized. Then do steady state at 60-75%, 127-145bpm for 30- 45 min to burn off the fatty acids in the blood stream.

You could also try MAX-OT cardio..u do it on a recumbent bike and u choose the interval setting n go all out cycling for 16min., u can google it to more in dept info. But that's the just of it.. And also I go on the treadmill and do HIIT..works great , change it up everyweek and 1 week low intensity..
