So 1)use fedex/ dhl and your home address = you definitely get your goods or
2)use regular postal route and any address = you definitely get your goods stolen.

mrwhite wrote: One other thing is don't confuse USPS with UPS. USPS is the United States Postal Service and they are great problem is the goods then get handed over to the SA postal service when they reach here. UPS is a courier company which is also good to use, door to door service same as Fedex/ DHL.
Spot on!
Always try to avoid the postal service of any country... there is a good reason for me saying this and if you know how how they operate internally compared to couriers regarding SARS you will know what I'm talking about. I don't want to discuss it here though, because that might become a problem if the wrong people read this.

I ordered BSN-N.O and All American EFX Creatine from them. In my amateurism i selected the Global DHL mail option as shipping. (This is not track able of course).
I waited 5-6 weeks for the stuff and thought it got lost or stolen in the mail.
The other day i got a little slip from the post office to come and collect a package.
Needless to say it was my stuff from BB.com.
Now, the thing that impressed me the most and that i still dont understand is that they just handed it over.
I payed no customs money/import tax and in the process saved almost R300 in ordering from BB.com where i would otherwise buy my stuff local.
5-6 weeks is too long for me anyways so i wont go that route again.
I'll try my luck next time with the DHL courier service.
Just my 5 cents worth..
Keeping it real...

I use the FedEx Global Express option which takes on average 5 days to be delivered to SA and another day or 2 for Fedex to deliver to my doorstep.
The only pain is that credit cards and even paypal payments from SA is not accepted by bb.com; and it's too much admin to set up a western union payment. Luckily I have family in the states that can help out.
Unrelated but nice to know. I buy a lot of stuff over the net, but not all merchants ship internationally. So I make use of a mail forwarding company (a reputtable company, which required a bit of paperwork to setup my account) where I rent my own US postal address for a couple of $ per month, have my purchases delivered to that address where they repackage if required and courier it to SA. You have various courier options and they obviously receive bulk discount. For example, I was quoted about $350 for shipping 3 pairs of trainers, but using the mail forwarding service I paid $85. It's a no-brainer!

Thanks!
I ordered last year Oct last, it's a hassle because they no longer accept paypal,or credit cards. Western union is a hassle to setup. Posted my stuff through post office, took 5 weeks but got it my order value was r2500, customs plus minus R250
