Dischem advertised it would mark endorsed supplements (supplements that they have researched and comply to what the packaging states is in the ingredients-actually is in the ingredients) with the "Dischem's" green tick. Does anyone know if any have acquired the tick of approval?

Wow, the silence with regards to this topic is deafening. Can someone actually address the elephant in the room? l kid you not l had a former local Mr South Africa / World, (he who's name shall not be spoken) who very quietly (and politely mind you, no heated words at all) De Friended me on fb because l persistently asked if he could assure me no BHG's and Antibiotics in his products (also shall not be named) leaked over from dairy. I kid you not folks- Bam!! no longer friends? XD . Simple question guys which protein / whey powder can someone recommend that actually has a "governing body" that can give provide scientific evidence that the product they endorse contains ONLY what it says it does on the labels/packaging. Is it really so shocking to He Who's Name Shall Not Be Spoken- that l choose to know what l am putting in my body? not what he chooses for the Bucks? Seriously without a doubt this dude was only doing good old fashioned juice n real food when he got his title, as by his age, why the issue when l want the simple answers on what he claims is better than what he did for his title? sorry am rambling- it's the frustration not the rage ...

I don't think many on this forum will take Dischem's approval that seriously. Most of us here are used to taking underground products, so unregulated supplements are of little concern.

BTW: If the person you don't want to name cannot provide you with the assurances you want why don't you just go for another brand of products that can supply you with the info you seek, no need to persistently ask the guy to the point that he has to de friend you.

Thanks for your reply, reason l ended up on your site is because there is not one product- seriously l have searched, that can give me the assurances. Spoke to reps from "well known" brands, l won't go on as you have stated there is no guarantee. In my defence "said gentleman" was personal trainer to my son in 1993. No supplement market then- my boy was given an eating programe and gym plan, this kid. morphed in a few years doing as taught. Now doing my homework for an 18 year old (next generation) same guy won't recommend my eldests working formula (no pun intended) and quietly and politely dodges the bullet on his "new" formula? so l was no stranger harassing the dude l gave the guy big bucks for my kid. back in the day and it worked back then. This other kid being 18 cannot go underground until he stops growing (and he gets tested for his sport) until then he has to bulk by way of consumption. Only made sense to approach Mr X. Like l said no animosity between us- just a nice quiet good bye out the back door. Then again Mr X is literally half the man l used to sit and chat too, what's with that? At least l got what l wanted here from yourselves, finally some honesty. Thanks for that, will be hauling out the food plan. Old school logic ("tweeked" when the boy is older and independent) and hard work IS the only way.

There are supplement companies that cater to pro-athletes specifically because their products have to be 100% clean.

Go to www.sportslab.co.za and ask them what they can offer you. I know the people behind Sportslab and you can trust them and their products.

a Buddy of mine said that they tested some Biogen products at the chemistry lab at the uni. Actual content fell short of what was indicated on the Nutritional value table. Biogen is made by USN.

Then again, I went onto USN's site and found this:

www.usn.co.za/page/independent-laborator...boratories-440.html/

hard to tell these days with manipulated studies etc.

As far as I know Nutritech is clean too.
