Good pre-workout/fatburner for female was created by MissFitness
I've been researching pre-workouts and fatburners...

I've never used a pre-workout before and some brands e.g. USN have very mixed feedback, so I still have mixed feelings.

I have been using the USN Lava Sticks before my workouts the past week or so, but it totally blows my head off my shoulders and I want to face-palm anyone who speaks to me at the gym. I think I should maybe switch...Any suggestions?

I am also switching over to a new diet/workout in order to shed the last bit of fat, while shaping up. Any suggestions of fat burners that will compliment the diet/workout? I have been seriously considering Fat Furnace. Anyone with experience with this product?

I'm not sensitive to stimulants (except whatever the hell is in Lava Sticks :woohoo: ) and generally take well to products without experiencing side-effects.

WOuld also like to know - is it a good idea to stop the use of fatburners after achieving goal bf% or should a maintenance dose be taken? Obviously diet is primarily responsible for keeping bf% low...

Any other comments or suggestions?

Thanks!

In terms of preworkout, get a powder in a tub so you can alter the dose. I believe the Lava Sticks are one pack per serving so it's difficult to play with the dose.

But here's the real deal, it may be a better idea to just create your own preworkout stack. Get caffeine, beta-alanine and creatine separate, that way you can alter the ratio too. Add arginine if you want the added pump, but this will not influence your gains in any way (nice psychological effect, though).

In terms of 'fat burners', if you're talking about stuff you can get OTC, forget about it, waste of money. Eat at a caloric deficit and you will lose weight, it's that simple.
If you're talking about drugs that will actually aid in fat loss, your options are
  • EC stack (basically just appetite suppressant with almost negligible metabolic boost, and leave out the aspirin)
  • Clenbuterol or albuterol (metabolic boost is again negligible, but clen is great because it allows you to eat at a larger caloric deficit)
  • DNP (best results, worst side effects. Safe if used properly, will kill you if not)

With the exception of DNP (and androgenic beasts like Tren, which I haven't gone into for obvious reasons), you can't rely on a drug alone. They'll just 'speed up' and enhance what you're already doing with diet.

Wow, thanks TheBulk - real interesting w.r.t manual mixing. Have never actually thought about that. I'd seriously consider it as soon as I've read up on the ratios. Any suggested ratios? Can I get the caffeine/beta-alanine/creatine/arginine all in the supplement section of eg Dischem?

But you confirmed what I basically thought/knew about OTC burners, but I don't want to use gear,so I'll just stick to the diet. Thanks man!

Each of those supplements deserve an article of their own.

"Ratio" wasn't the best term for me to use, because the doses are determined separately. You won't literally throw them in a tub and mix it all together; rather, you'll 'mix' it by taking it all before your workout, whether that means swallowing a bunch of pills or mixing it into a shake.

For the convenience I currently use Evox's 3DT, but you can indeed buy them all at Dischem. Of course, you want to weigh up the price of making your own vs buying a product. Sometimes you can save a lot, especially in bulk, other times they could end up around the same price.

RE diet, if you haven't already, create a thread in the Dieting section. The stickies there are a bit old-school and not strictly accurate but you may find some good info.

I have just been sponsored by Cellucor and so I have been using a few of their products recently with great success! I would really recommend Cellucor Super HD fat burner for good results.

It is pretty expensive but very much worth the price. All their products are 100% doping free. Its best taken in the morning even if you are training at night because its potent and you won't sleep if you take it later than 11am. Serving size is only 1 capsule

I used 2 preworkouts a while ago, one was muscle science and I can't remember the other one. Concentration and intensity was up in the gym but after I discontinued use I had massive caffiene withdrawels (anyone who's had them will know the horrible headaches) so just make sure you're aware off what you're putting into your body.

LOL come on man, caffeine is caffeine. Granted it does taste nasty, but I got it 'free' with my whey. It does feel like a junk formulation though, not getting any alanine pins and needles with it :(

3DT contains DMAA so stay the fudge away from it! Cellucor works pretty well. Best is still "make it yourself" from Ondier!

PWO's are getting crappier and crappier coz they just seem to be banning all the "good" ingredients. I think Cellucor's C4 and Muscle Marinade are still the top ones tho

Im using cipla pump 3D and like it alot. Also not too badly priced for what you get. Used muscle junky inferno a while back but was disappointing.

The reviews on it are quite bad. But the old product was just as shit with all that DMAA.

Yeah the drawback was the crash. You have to admit tho, the focus and endurance were quite intense.

EDIT: I recently used EXT Sports GO. It was quite good actually for the price. Excellent clean, focused energy with zero crash and jitters

That crash! :S On several occasions I had to cancel the rest of my days appointments because I couldn't get off the couch! The focus was good will give you that, the endurance to me is not different than any other supplement that uses Beta-Alanine and Creatine. Looking at my mates I think it was also a lot due to the placebo effect. They were all so bad ass because they were using this product that is banned from sport!

Hahaha yeah i remember the 1st time i took it. Decided to train legs like a hero. Got through the workout like a boss...then came the crash. Came home, passed out on the bed, feeling absolutely drained, nauseous and the worst part is, you feel extremely tired but cant even sleep it off. Just gotta lay in bed and look at the stars thinking that your heart is gonna pop from your chest at any minute

Hey guys

Sorry for only replying now. Sitting in an area without signal.

@ Mike123,a little all over I suppose :)

Well,I also know the crash and withdrawal all too well. The other night I got such a migraine I could barely see and was very confused, was stuck in bed and out of gym for 3 days.NOT cool. But with everything I've got going on every day,I need the boost/focus to get going properly in gym. August MY time is starting,so want to get all my stuff sorted so I can hit it as best I can. B)

If you need some focus and just to wake up properly after a long day then I would suggest simply buying some caffeine tablets from your local Clicks. Most pre-workouts have caffeine as their main booster anyways. Anything you need more after that I.m.o is in your mind.
