Ok, so have any of you guys had any experience terating fungal infections with any success? Im not talking athletes foot or ringworm here, rather skin borne and blood borne systemic fungal infections...

My gf gets these little spots, avg size smaller than a 10c coin, irregularly round, some oval etc. They are normally a shade lighter than her skin tone, sometimes slightly flaky or dry. All over her body but mainly back, chest and stomach. Not hectically noticeable but in the heat and humidity they go a bit red and flushed and get itchy.

Heard the description tinea versicolor thrown around. We've tried a number of things, from creams, oils, old wives remedies, bath salts etc... No luck

Anyone seen this before?

Um, but im scared of needles...

Im not too certain, we've tried so many. Thinking about trying a double approach of oral antifungals and topical creams. Had any success with this admin?

Have you asked doctors if it's a type of ecsma? My brother had something very similar. After years of every type of cream and medicines we discovered that he could only use a unique oat soap. Will find out exactly which soap it was if you want? Swheet

Any cortisone cream should only help with the itch or irratation but not with the fungal itself, can't really think off hand what the best to use would be.

She doesnt use sun beds, but she does tan outside a lot and that tends to aggravate it

ja. maybe get her to lay of the tanning for a while and see if it improves.
with my ex she stopped tanning and did make it alot better. never went away though.
maybe a good dermo might be the answer.

Give Medaspor a try, it's only R12 a tube, but works well on most fungal infections.

Thanks for the help guys. Will visit the pharmacy this weekend and try some new things. She's getting really irritated with these spots, and the itchyness means i get suddenly requested to scratch her back at random times

I get this weird rash sometimes on my back and chest. A bit darker than my skin. Im not sure what the cause it, but a doctor did mention that it might be related to my shampoo or soap I am using. Anyway, what seemed to work was a mixture of Mylocort and Canalba creams. Bought the 2 of them for like R50 and mixed them together. Applied it twice a day for 2 weeks. It seems to have done the trick. So when it does flair up, i just get that. Canalba is a broad spectrum anti fungal and mylocort is a hydrocortisone.
