Rather sell the farm and buy food from Pic 'n Pay, it's cheaper and much less hassles.

I can get horse mince for R20/kg if anyone is interested, but there might be traces of dog mixed in as well depending on the season.

Be careful of cheap mince... where do you think all the old steaks and shit goes that butcheries are not selling?

I pay 29.99 p/kg chicken breast on the bone with skin from my local SPAR, i use beef roast instead of steak at R69.99 p/kg

I would also be extremely wary of cheap mince!

I pay about R49-52 per kg of chicken @ pick & pay. At least its boneless and skinless (I guess if you are on a tight budget the frozen pieces may be better) but they inject that shit with water and it has bones in it and I feel that it is old... I also pay around R65 for steak but I don't currently eat that. Only chicken...

I wait till somebody goes on special for <R30/kg, then buy up the store. Usually sit with roughly 50kg frozen somewhere or other.

When bulking meat is meat, I'm down for horse and dog mince :woohoo: !!
It's all just taboo man, if we decided to ride cows and play fetch with chickens wild horses and dogs could've made up our staple meat sources...

Sorry if I offend you
Its just my point of view

I also stock up when a special hits. Been living off sirloin i found at Spar for R49-00 3-4 months ago. Lovely tender stuff - couldnt believe my eyes.
Looking for Chicken, but since the P&P scandal with the supplier injecting water there is no sign of a special. Must say those breasts are really plump now.

@ Etwa yes I also like F&V chicken, bit expensive.

I get my chicken from a local farm @ R40 a kg. It's not that cheap for a direct buy, but the quality is great

Personally I think fillets > frozen pieces of chicken. Even price wise. Because after you have removed all the skin and sit with all the bone its about half of what you have bought and therefore I think double the price is justified. And then there is all the effort you have saved as well.

just go down the road, shoot the farmers chickens, slaughter them and bugger off.
