FNB, the bank which brought official Paypal support to South Africa. The first bank to have its own app, and now the first bank to offer you an iPad 2 at an extremely reduced price, to use that app on.
Starting today, FNB Gold and Platinum cheque account holders can order a 16Gb wifi + 3G iPad 2 for a very impressive R4800. Thats a saving of R899! It gets better, there is also the option to pay for the device over a 24 month period with zero interest.
That works out to an incredible R200 a month, which can be debited straight for your account every month. At that price how can you say no?
Interested? If you are an FNB cheque account holder, all you have to do is SMS the word “Tablet” to 32812. Its that simple.
Also on offer are a Blackberry and various Android devices with similar incredible savings.
Is an R899 saving on an iPad 2 going to make you consider changing banks? Let us know in the comments section.

Following the offer launched by FNB which provides customers with a smartphone or tablet PC at a set monthly fee between R70 and R200 over 24 months interest free, details have emerged that signing up for the offer will change the customer’s existing pricing plan.
The offer is only available to new and existing FNB Gold or Platinum account holders.
According to Kartik Mistry, Product Owner at FNB Core Banking Solutions, “We will change your pricing option to a Mobile Pricing Option.”
Mistry explained that FNB wants to encourage the use of pure electronic channels, hence the change of pricing plan.
The new pricing plan options are as follows:
You will be limited to 2 Free ATM Withdrawals per month
Thereafter you will be charged PAYU rates for ATM withdrawals
“We understand the risk and costs associated with cash for a customer and hence we would like to encourage more Point of Sale in-store purchases,” continued Mistry.
FNB also confirmed that “the terms will remain the same for both product suits,” referring to the Gold and Platinum accounts to which the special is available.
