Its simple.

Its illegal to be in possession of hormones (steroids) without a valid perscription. The sale of steroids are classified as drug dealing although not policed as hard as hard narcotics are.

And the repercussions of being caught owning anabolics without a valid perscription?
Would that just be a fine, or jail time?
I suppose it depends on quantity and nature of possession.

Just create your own topic, no need to mess-up this thread when you know it's not on topic.

Honestly mate, changes of being caught with gear by the authorities are very very slim. Most cops won't even knw that its gear nor that a perscription etc is needed. Unless u are a total idiot who takes his gear along to gym, pins in public, supplies to minors etc etc.

As in most controlled substances the authorities are more concerned with the manufacturers and suppliers. So if a person is a suspect and is found with boxes of vials etc then ur in trouble and carte blanche will make u a star. Lol

If u are found with quite an amount of pure ephedrine u can and will be charged with running a drug lab, manufacturing etc as that is main ingredient in meth

It is illegal to use steroids without a valid prescription, but the police has there hands full with drugs like tik, E, cocaine and heroin. Drugs that people rob and steal for to feed their habit. The chances of the state spending resources on steroid users is almost nil. I have never heard of anybody being bust for storoids in South Africa, never, not for dealing or possession.
What would they do, you ask? In this very unlikely circumstance, it would depend on how much you have with you, they will book you, charge you, put you in a cell till you can go to court, after court they will send you home. If you had just enough for you, you can only be charged with possession, no jail time, only a fine, but a criminal record. If you had more, they can charge you with dealing, even then, if your record is clear, you will probably get a fine and some community service. If you have a shit load, they can charge you with trafficking, then you might get some time, but it not being a priority drug, even then you might not get much jail time, if any.
Look the police in SA are not even set up for such a court case, they need experts to testify on HOW bad steroids are, and, and, and. From the police to prosecutors, they are not interested in steroids. Storoid users do not affect the community in any adverse way, they dont rob and steal to obtain their steroids, the cops are not stupid, the law is the law, but there is something like what the law says and what they see on the streets.

Don't quite agree on everything u said there john. For instance steroids do have an impact on the community. Just take the recent schoolboy rugby saga.

The judicial system is very capable of handling such cases as it is not the effect of the substance that's in question rather than the law surrounding it being broken. And south africa def have world class experts in the field of steroids. Remember any person can be summoned to testify in a case, any dr, professor etc.

Again using the school boy rugby as an example, these situations def do create an interest from prosecutors etc. Sumtime sumwhere suomone will be made an example of.

We buy cycles all at once.. we can get in real shit me thinks. If i had to start a cycle...say 12-15 weeks. I could get cought with about 5-7 vials of test and anabolics and about 5-10 containers of pills....all without a perscription..

And it would be really bad if they took it. Keep ur nose clean..keep to urself and u wont have problems.

MCJ, you are right about the experts we have, but what I meant to say was that we are not geared up for it, why? Because it is not seen as a priority. Yes it has an impact and it gets abused by some, but if you look at the impact of tik and that of steroids, there is no comparrison, thus the cops spend almost no time investigation steroids and its users. Meaning it would be new ground for the judicial system. They are looking for other substances that they deem worse than steroids.
It is illegal though and one must be careful, but not worried about getting locked up though. Except ephadrine, because of its use in "street" drugs.

The tought of a record as mentioned by John777 made me extremly curiose about the south african legislation regarding both possesion and distribution of steroids. Most if not all that John777 Said is exacly on the money, exept for the part where it is devided into 3 posible charges. I'm no lawyer but it seems to me that the South African legislation on steroids is quite strict on possesion of steroids. If you are busted chances are you will only get a slap on the wrist and not even a mark on your record. If the take you to court you can be charged with one of 2 things:
Possesion WITHOUT intent to distribute:
Minor fine and convescation of all your steroids and up to 6 monthes comunity service.
OR
Possesion WITH intent to distribute:
Seriose fine,up to 10 years of jail time depending on the amount of steroids and a record for distribution of illigal narcotics.

The only chance of getting off scot free is by hiring a very good and respected lawyer, the prosecutor will have to make a verry strong case for you to have to do time, the source i got my information from is a relative that practices law for a life and he has stated that cases often dont even go to court, and if they do chances of doing time are extremly slim

My advice, keep your juice stashed, and don't trust anyone.
