If you look back in the history of F1 the most successful drivers usually build the teams around them and they complained pretty quickly the moment their team mate is faster. This goes for Senna, Michael, Mika, Fernando ect.
In the past the no1 driver even took their team mate's car when they crashed, so the rules were changed. Every team will have to sacrifice one of their drivers if they want to win the championship, sometimes they deliberately choose a weaker second driver. Ferrari is well know to do this and it obviously works as they are the most successful. Renault did the same for Alonso and Ferrari did it for Michael. Mclaren did it for Mika ect.
